Math has the 5th highest job satisfaction of all jobs in the US.

Saying you can only teach with a degree in math is like saying you can only teach with a degree in engineering, or in medicine. Its patently false.

The rigor and problem solving strength from math applies to many other fields. Science is philosophy and math together. You can work in just about any science field with only a little adjustment. Genetics and Biotech are dead in the water without HUGE computer and math support.

A good initial job to look at with a math degree, one that has great income and job security is Actuarial Science.

You can make a lot of money in Investment Banking. Most analysts there, including couple of my friends, are math PhDs.

You can go into academics. Get a BS in math then get a masters then a DR and become a college prof!
