Xanax will show a positive on a drug screen for benzodiazipines. As long as it is correctly prescribed and you are not applying for a top secret security clearance, there should be no problem.

Good luck on your new job.
PS: The spelling is xanax, not zanax :)

Nope it won't. Standard drug screenings are looking for narcotic drugs. Zanax is an anti-anxiety medication and not a narcotic so you don't have anything to worry about. You do not need to tell current or prospective employers what medications you are taking unless they could interfere with your safety on the job. There is no reason for you to tell them about this medication.

THEY CAN'T TELL WHAT KIND OF DRUG BUT IT WILL SHOW THE BEST THING TO DO IS TO COME CLEAN AND IF U CAN GET A NOTE FROM UR DOC IS ALSO GOOD HE DOSE NOT HAVE TO SAY WHAT IT IS FOR ,BECAUSE THAT IS AGAINST THE LAW , JUST BRING THE BOTTLE AND A NOT FROM THE DOCTOR AND IF THEY STILL DON'T WANT TO HIRE U THEN U PROBABLY DON'T NEED TO WORK FOR THEN ANY WAY IF THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO GIVE U A FAIR CHANCE .AND THEN I WOULD TALK TO A LAWYER TO SEE IF ITS DISCRIMINATION.

when you get a screening for a job the standard test is a urinallysis, this only tests your urine levels. but it depends on how long ago you ate them, if they are prescribed then yes tell them you cant lose a chance because of a prescription, pills generally take 4 days to clear out but you never know...

More than likely, your test will be screened for it iif it is a pre-employment drug screen. I would reveal it. No shame in taking medication that is genuinely needed and necessary.

Yes, and yes. Technically it is a controlled substance, but that should not be held against you. In fact, it would be illegal for someone to deny you a job because of your legal prescription, although you would have a hard time proving that.
