try repartitioning the machine by going into the boot menue when the computer truns on and try to boot it from the cd if you have a windows xp cd
(to do this you have to delete you previous partition)

and i would recomend getting windows xp home edition they cost up to $60 now i could be wrong
and just so you know i heard that you can't just format the machine to work with windows i seen mac os x panther edition cds for about $70 if your interested you can check that out i mean mac is a little better than windows since it's less vulneriable to viruses

If you brought the cd from a store, there should be a number there on the box or on the instruction paper. Call them, they can help you install the cd or tell you what the problem is.

Your computer is not compatable for Windows XP. It does not reach the standard qualifications.
