Do you hold a stereotype against Muslims?

I was just wondering why so many people think all Muslims are fanatics. Personally I think that things written in the Koran about jihad are out of context and refelct the same positions as the Cristain faith take in life. I think every religon, even Christanity, has its fanatics. Take Warren Jeffs for example. He may not be blowing up things, but his exterme view points on religon have ruiened countless lives.

i do not hold stereotypes against muslims. I believe that all people are similar, despite culture, social, ethnic, economic differences.. Sure muslims may have jihad, in the Kuran, however you must realize that all religious texts always are influenced by their writers. For example, Jews dont eat pigs.Why? Is it truly against God's will? Of course not. Rather it was applicable 1000+ years ago, in the hot desert with no refrigerators, because ham rots quickly, and once rotten looks the same as if its not rotten. The reason why they have Jihad in they're Quran is because it calls for Muslims to be united against people of other faiths who may try to convert or control them. Its not fair to blame Warren Jeffs. Look at it this way. If you want to defend your people, your culture, your family, your land, and you have no money. You would do what ever it takes. Thats why there are such Muslim extremists. History is written by the Winners. Its not fair to take whats written in the Newspapers, or whats on tv,etc. You have to understand other people and their beliefs. You may not be agree with it, however you can always understand it if you try.

I'd like to think that Muslim Jihad is innocent, but take a look at Mohammed's life - ever since he created Islam, he spent his time warring and conquering neighboring people and forcibly converting them to Islam.

I don't think I do. But I've mostly met very quiet ones including a couple who were not practicing their religion anymore, or else they were just normal families living in America. If it weren't for television and what I've learned in school, I wouldn't have even realized there were any other kind of Muslims out there.
Warren Jeffs just has strange delusions of grandeur. Polygamy was ended in 1890, and I think he just wants more power for himself. He needs to let go of the past.

You know it's very easy to get a very wrong idea about Islam right now! I’m Muslim myself and when I see the gap between the messages of peace, brotherhood, and love I have grown up with and the middle-aged, violent, disrespectful image media are giving to Islam, I feel very very sad!

Yes I believe Islam is the religion of war and terror. Oh sure there are lots of "good people who say they are muslims", but there are no peaceful true muslims, because in order to be a true muslim according to the Koran one must do what it says, and it says to Kill and subjugate those who don't agree with their prophet (piss be upon him)
Yes there are nice people who say they are muslims and I have no problem with being their friend... it's the true muslims that I have a problem with, and the nice muslims know very well that their lives are in danger if they speak out against the rabid islamists.
