hi, I was wondering, what an auxilliary cable would do coming from a ipod 5th gen to a Halfords Ripspeed dvd playeer - would it show the artists tunes info etc on screen or will it just play the audio from the ipod on the unit with a blank screen??

Thanks for any input......

It will prob just play music and not show anything else. I got mine hooked up to an alpine unit via a cradle. The only way you can play movies is through a convertor with vga output. Alpine do a stand alone unit for the video ipod to link to a screen to show everything. For total control of your ipod through the stereo then you will need to buy an ipod ready/fullspeed connection. try the apple website for more info on manufacturers who cater for ipod. Or you could try this website: http://www.apple.com/ipod/carintegration.html

it depends on the quality of your dvd player. if u have ID3 Tag on your dvd player it will list the data about the tracks however aux should connect your ipod to the unit and should play the music from the device. My guess is as it ripspeed you probs wont get ID3 tag with it so the screen will be blank or say "DVD" - no harm in trying though!

If it's just an 1/8 inch or rca cable, it can't do anything but play music. If it plugs into the usb connector thing at the bottom, it probably tells you everything about the file.
