Clearly, it will roll east. Since roosters cannot lay eggs, the egg is imaginary. I'm willing to assert that imaginary eggs are weightless and therefore easily blown in the direction of the prevailing winds. This would be true regardless of the orientation of the roof, since gravity will not act on a weightless object.

Of course, once the egg rolls off the roof, it will not descend to the ground. That weighlessness thingy again.

But, of course, some will assert that an imaginary egg has infinite mass and therefore will descend directly through the structure. It's an interesting idea, but patently silly.

Others will assert that since the egg is imaginary, no external forces can act on it whatsoever. Another interesting, but silly idea. Of course they act on it. Why? Because this is what I, in my imagination, have decided.

I hate to be the one to tell you the bad news but----roosters don't lay eggs. You need a tissue.

BUT: If it takes a hen an a half to lay an egg an a half, how long would it take a one legged rooster to shingle a shi+ house with potato chips...?

I know roosters don't lay eggs, but the question assumes they do, so the answer is:

The egg would roll downwards!

I've always heard it as...
A rooster is sitting on the very top of a barn. Right at the peak where he could fall left or right very easily. He then lays an egg. Which direction does the egg roll?

Another good one ...
A plane crashes right on the border of Canada and the US. Where do they bury the survivors?

Or ...
You are in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. All the windows look south. A bear walks past the cabin. What color is the bear?

(Answer 1: You don't bury the survivors. You bury the dead.)
(Answer 2: White. You are at the north pole and it is a polar bear.)
