a hyperactive Thyroid could cause weight loss....it can be diagnosed by a simple blood test where they check the T3 and T2 levels and the basic thyriod function....if you are found to have an overactive thyriod it can be treated and you will then be able to gain weight....
i would suggest going to the doctors and getting a blood test

There are other things to consider besides thyroid. Such as body type, length of the intestine (can be as much as 13 feet differential). So no matter how much you eat, weight gain seems impossible. If this is your problem, you must eat several times a day, just to keep nutritional substances being available for assimilation. If you have no other symptoms, it would suggest the assimilation is not up to par. Thus, the need to keep a continuous supply available within the body. You may get some assistance by eating some papaya also. Genetics will play a large part in your growth pattern.. 5'3" is not an unusual height for a female. I am a male and never did reach 5'5".

Hey, Thyroid can be either overactive or under. Overactive thyroid , aka thyrotoxicosis can cause failure in gain of weight. But, it has so many other features like- trembling or tremors, sweating profusely, loose motions, palpitation, lack of sleep etc. In case you have anyone of them then only you should think of thyroid disease.
Otherwise simply go in for a routine check up.

This is not a bad thing. This is a good thing. You should try eating more protein and carbos. I still weigh 285 and loosing weight is a big problem for me. So eat up. You would know you have a problem if you weighed 500 pounds and couldn't loose weight. That would be a thyroid problem.

If you think it's your thyroid go get a bloodtest done for sure.

Otherwise, I'd be thankful you can eat like a pig and not gain an ounce.

Many things attribute to your weight gain/losses over the lifetime - however, if you are eating as much as you say and not gaining, you need to be tested. Don't wait, go to your parents and tell them of your concerns, or go to your school nurse if your parents dismiss your concerns.
