If you had a to choose... either a private school were they paddle kids and you know they are getting a good education or public school were there are no paddlings but you have to worry about some kid bringing a gun to school, what one would you choose and why??

First of all I have to say that anyone can bring a gun to school Private schools are not immune.
Second, tell your child not to break the rules and he will not be paddled. If you think that he may break the rules and you do not want him to be paddled at school then perhaps you should send him to public school.
I have taught in both settings. The public schools are a little different from private, but they are not bad at all. I prefer public school and I send my kids to public school. Also; at my public school we have emergency plans in place in case of a dangerous situation. They did not do that at the private school. It can happen anywhere.

I think spanking should be left up to parents i would choose a private school because they have smaller classes and more of a teacher student contact which helps the child get a better education. It doesnt matter what type off school they go to as there will always be kids who will bring drugs, guns, alcohol etc. Often it is the kids that come from a well brought up family that are the main offenders of things like that.

I would definitely choose a good education and a paddling. I'm not saying that anyone should beat their kid(s) but I know that when I was growing up, my Dad would spank me and let me know right from wrong and I still respect him and love him today. Anyone can see the problems we have now when kids aren't made to mind and have no fear of discipline. The guns in school, drugs, etc. I know it's always been around but not as bad and when we were younger, we knew we were in trouble for doing that kind of stuff.

WHAT?! they spank kids at private schools?!?!?! isnt it against the law and you still wont noe if a kid goes 2 a private skool and brings a gun.

Guns, sex, drugs & rock n roll are in private schools too. Its up to PARENTS to teach their kids right from wrong.

i definitely would choose private school-
classes are smaller, kids learn more and
talk to staff and see what their policy is
about spanking-may calm your fears

well not all public schools are that bad. Really only in certain areas. I would go with one of the safer public schools.

AHHH! Abusive PARENTS SUCK! their children don't learn anything from abuse! they just start hating their parents! some even self harm from it. like cutting, smoking, and other bad things for u. no one should have to spank their kids!!! :(((
