Being a coffee lover, I'd be glad to help. You always have to grind your coffee beans before you brew them. In a regular run of the mill coffee maker, Either regular ground, or fine ground would be fine. I don't bother with grinding coffee beans, myself, but I can recommend some good coffee. Maxwell House: Masters Blend, or Folgers: Breakfast Blend.

You must grind the beans to brew coffee. I like a fine grind, almost an espresso grind. Some ppl think the only way to have coffee is to grind the beans right before brewing. I don't.

Try Kirspy Kreme's Coffee, Starbucks' Breakfast Blend, or even Folgers or Maxwell House until you develop a palatte for more expensive coffees.

Ground beans of course; How fine the grind used is determined by the shape of the filter. Try a local coffee roaster for beans. Best thing to do is try some of the coffee at the store see what you like and what you can't stand.

Find a gourmet store or bulk food store that sells a variety of coffee beans, try Columbian, Costa Rica, Sumatran, Moka Java and dark roasts like French and Viennese.

Then what I learned over time, you can blend them to your liking, a bit of each or 2 or 3 you like to blend something you are happy with.

When I was chef, I did this for some the restaurants I worked for, and if you want a treat try Jamaican Blue Mountian or Hawaiian Kona, but as a single not a mix, these are truely extra ordinary coffees, like fine wines
they rate a special time and place to savour them.
