I would definitely get a third opinion by a dermatologist. Make sure that this is not sarcoma there is alot of information on the web about this skin condition. As a RN, I would be concerned since the marks are spreading and raised. Good Luck! IM me if you need anything.

I forget what they are called right now but some "birth marks" that grow like this can actually be placental tissue and continue to grow requiring surgery sometimes. In very bad cases there needs to be a lot of reconstructive surgery done. I don't mean to frighten you but if this "birth mark" seems to keep growing you should see a dermatologist and have this looked at asap. The sooner the better. If it isn't too bad there are less invasive treatments that can be done but you don't want to wait to find out. Good luck.

Some birth marks are red or pink/purple, some are flat and some are raised...called 'strawberry navira' they can get bigger or totally fade...depending on how old your grand daughter is now she may grow out of it...my niece had one on her leg and its totally disappeared now at 10 yrs of age...we told her it was her little rose lol ....most will tell you to wait and watch it....usually they are very deep and doing anything surgical will leave scarring. But do keep an eye on it.

Don't worry, as they grow, sometimes their birthmarks do too. At the next doctor visit, bring it up for peace of mind.
