Let us assume that you're downloading a anti-virus software using bit torrent. First you'll locate the torrent and then using Microtorrent or Bittorrent software you'll download the file for which you will specify a location where the software must be downloaded.
On successful completion of download open the location where the software is downloaded and run the setup.exe file to begin installation...

If it's a .zip or a .rar, you have to extract it with winrar or winzip and run the installer. If it's .iso or.bin .cue you need to either mount it with something like daemon tools or burn it to cd with something like alcohol 120% and run the cd. If it's an .exe, just double click it and follow instructions.
If you use Daemon tools, version 3.47 is the last one without spyware bundled.
Knowing the file type you downloaded would help someone explain how to install it(.exe, .iso.rar etc)
