i hate to say this but, no- I think that they can change for a while - but then, when things die down and given the opportunity they go right back to doing whatever it was that they did. Most times, the behavior is actually worse because they got away with it before. They get braver and see how much farther they can go. What you have to decide is how much you are willing to let go and forgive. It really depends on the situation : cheaters, abusers, liars- nope they will never change. I do believe that with help certain people can and will do better- you have to know that you really can't change the core of who they are- they have to want to change for themselves

Most people over the age of 25 don't change much unless a life-altering experience prompts a change.

The older you get, the more intense the event needs to be to prompt the change.

Peoplee can only change if THEY truly want to. No one can force another person to change. No one will truly change if they only do it to please the other person- it will be temporary and false. You can't force an alcoholic to stop drinking; they have to want to do it for themselves. "Love" doesn't make people change-- they must always do the hard work themselves... and since change isn't easy, they will quit and blame the other person if their heart isn't in it.

i don't think that people can really change unless it's a small trait or a bad habit. i also think it's impossible to change someone with major issues that you don't like. so don't get into a serious relationship thinking you can change someone.

I do believe people can change, but they have to Want to Change.
If a person doesn't try or doesnt want to change then there is no change, so it is up to an individual person.
