Definitely go on a first date. You cannot become someone's g/f or b/f without getting to know each other first. You may decide he's not the right guy for you after the first date!

You can just be dating someone, and still have others on the side. (sounds bad i know) but then you can have a BF or GF. Kinda depends. Me and an old BF started out together before we ever went on a date.

I would say becoming boyfriend and girlfriend, declarying that you two together then go on the date, it's like when u walk in a store, u dont drink the milk without buyin it first. :) I mean you could go on a date to get to know eachother, but u can know eachother just by talkin' to him u dont have to go on a "Date" so i would say if u like someone, yea u can get to know them exchange phone numbers, or whatever, and then from their if u feelin' eachother go out, and then from there, go out on a date as boyfriend and girlfriend, that's just my opinion though.

I would say it would require at least two months of dating before its to the level of girlfriend/boyfriend.
I am also an adult though. If your in middle school it just doesn't matter that much. Do what you want and don't get pregnant.
