I got my licence at 18 years, went to college, and got my first car at 20 ... it was a hand me down 1984 Buick Skyhawk that looked like a cream Barbie car. I loved that car. It wasn't flashy, a junker ... but in between. It was a great front end car that got many of a Jeep out of the mountains ... yes, that cute little Buick was great at 4-wheeling; although I never did the idiot stuff with it like the Jeep idiots I pulled out.

We finally sold it in 2003 ... every now and then I have night mares that a "Monster Truck" has bought it and is driving over it ... poor Buick.

I bought a 1987 Dodge Omni for $500. The car had a radio that wouldn't work normally until I would throw it in reverse and the car would jerk and the radio would miraculously come on. This was something I had to do frequently through the week...I also had to change the transmission on it quite frequently as well.

I got a 96 honda accord, great v-tech engine cam exclusivly with a clicking noise when you turned, one seatbelt that worked, a broken trunk latch, and to top it off, bullet holes up the side from a semi'automatic. Traded straight up to a guy for a bus ticket to Texas. Man, i loved that car...........
Anyway, hondas are built good, rarely break down, and they will last you for years.Good luck on the road with whatever you drive

My first car was a 1978 Chevy Impala. (This was in 1994!) I remember the tires were bald and I had no money for new ones, so all winter people had to give me a push if I happened to have parked on ice. It started backfiring and shooting flames out of the tailpipe at one point too. Ah, those were the days.

Do you really spell like this?
But to answer your question., and I would not recommend this car, it was a V W Bug and then after we got married we were able to get a Plymouth Furry, not a good car either.
Get a used Toyota. It will take you far and their reliable cars too.
Honda's are OK too.

Mine was a 1971 American Motors Matador, 2 door, red with a white top. It was boss and lasted me a lot of years.
Try to get a car with lots of safety features, and on which gets good gas mileage.
