And why?

Someone mentioned this once--I have been thinking about it.

I think it's too soon to tell, I think it's going to be a serious adjustment, likely there's going to be some people going out of business...but, in some cases, their days were numbered as it was. I think if the only way your business can survive economically is by hiring illegal immigrants at 1/2 the price etc.,, there's deeper problems in the tax and wage structure etc. that need to be fixed. One of these is welfare.
I think it's gotten way too easy for people to glom onto a lifetime entitlement payment, they say the majority of our national budget now goes toward entitlements. I feel that that is wrong. If it got a little harder to get your 'free cheese', more people would be more inclined to find some kind of honest job.

Border control is only going to end up being positive, I believe, and it will be win-win for Mexico and the United States, and likely help things between the US and Canada, too. Keeping things honest, and above board is only right. Having our borders secured will help that along...I also support a better foreign aid concept to help Mexico, I think as a good neighbor we should help them set up the 2 things that help reinforce your country, schools, and hospitals, and maybe roads. Foreign aid to help build such things is a great investment, it's not just handouts, it's helping people build a better future.

Closing the border will help end drug and people smuggling,
which is not good for Mexico, nor is it really good for our country to have these things going on. So, by ending them, good reforms will be possible in both countries.

How can it be an equatable deal if the reward for being an illegal criminal for 5 or more years is to give them citizenship. What message does that send to the people that did it the legal way? Were they foolish to follow the rules? No there should not be any amnesty programs, for
any illegals from any country. They should be located and systematically deported. Our borders need to be protected by our active duty military. That's a win win situation to me .The amnesty provision has already been dropped from the proposed law/bill.

Well, let's see if Senate votes the appropriation for the border fence .. apparently we should see some result on that one tomorrow ... some lunatic woman in California, Dianne Feinstein, is demanding an agricultural bill to be affixed to the border fence bill, because farmers can't get anyone to pick crops ... her idea is that the illegals who now are working in construction etc. are going to get a "blue" card and have to work in agriculture for 150 days over a 2 year period, and then get a green card ... apparently she wants to issue about 1.5 million of these cards ... absolutely daft if you ask me, those who are here illegally and work in construction won't want to go back to agriculture ... and 150 days over a 2 year period isn't much to write home about now, is it? And what did she want to do with the rest of the illegals?? I do honestly think our senators are stark staring mad ...

Hopefully, we'll get our border fence ... and after that, there really IS no reason to tinker with any comprehensive solutions ... all we have to do is enforce existing law ... why oh why is that so difficult for our elected representatives?? I mean we already HAVE a guest worker program on the books as we speak ... what exactly do they want?

We all win and lose..!
If we treat everyone as criminals/terrorist....we will be a loser to keep looking at our shoulder every seconds and Fear of someone will slash your neck or shoot you at the back.
It's a human nature that we always want to help or destroy each other...!!!!!!!!
on the other side of the coin...let politics stop policticking for they themselves are Power & money hunger.!
Give yourself a break and visit other country...you will see No different except how they want to survive in this Cruel world.
Who created and made this chaos..? Ask your inner peace.!?
Nobody wants to be controlled except your life partner are the dominant one!!! get that?
Let's just Hope the World get a chance of Meaningful and Peaceful resolved of what we all want to see.
And let everyone acts whatever the results of amnesty or border control..knows how to respect themselves and follow the Rule of this beautiful and helpful USA.!
Peace out.! God Bless

Thanks for the insightful question, hadenough!

I feel it will be a little bit from column A and a little bit from column B.

I truly do not feel the people in government are serious about minding the desires of the majority of the citizens of the USA because they are trying to keep big business happy (and keep the dollars from big business for their support) and also keep Mexico happy (for reasons I don't fully understand - something private between Bush and Fox, I think).

Personally, I do NOT want to see any kind of amnesty whatsoever for illegal immigrants because I feel that sends the wrong message to other would-be illegal immigrants throughout the world - they will see this as the nod, nod, wink, wink of "come on over, any way you can and if you wait long enough you will eventually be rewarded with citizenship." It also sends the wrong message to people who have gone through or are presently going through the legal routes to immigration and citizenship. It is not fair to them!

I want the border fence to be built and fiercely monitored. I want employers of illegals to be fully prosecuted. I want ALL social hand-outs to illegals to be stopped. I want ALL illegal immigrants to be deported as soon as they come to light. I want illegals to no longer be able to enroll their children in our schools. I want the anchor baby legislation to be removed - only children born to at least one US citizen should receive US citizenship. Illegals should be deported with the option of taking their anchor babies with them.

Anything less will be a huge disappointment, as far as I am concerned.

I concur with gokart a lot here as I find his information to be more intelligent and informed than most people who post here, though sometimes I find him to be softer than I would want to be on this issue. DAR, also. Both very smart and intelligent people who are sincerely trying to help with this problem in a humane and logical way.

I would like it to be a win win situation. However, amnesty should not be given and this is where our government is divided. Legal immigration is not hard at all. Wanna join my Anti LaRaza and KKK gang too...

A WHORE A.K.A PRINCESS 29 71 WROTE THIS ABOUT MEXICANS

Ode to illegal Mexicans
My best friend and I thought we would write something meaningful about the illegal Mexicans in this country. If you don't have a sense of humor, don't read it. I think it's hilarious and we had a lot of fun doing this. In case any did not Get It, I am being sarcastic when I say "meaningful". I found a lovely picture of some "steaming" Brown Pride.

BROWN PRIDE

Maria has 15 little beaners

because Jose won't put a condom on his little weiner.

La Cucaracha is their national song

singing about themselves all day long...

The buzzard rag waves in their front yard,

but they won't leave America....******* retards!

Viva la raza is what they say

We know beaners are totally gay.

What is that I see in Jose's truck?

Looks like curtains but ugly as ****.

Mexican women think they are true divas....

funny thing is they are all named Maria!

Jose's at the flea market, picking his nose.

Buying Maria more maternity clothes.

Beaners love fat women with bleach blonde hair.

That one Jesus has....rolls everywhere!!!

Carnival music plays on the night air....

Preparing foreplay for beanbags everywhere.

I feel it will be a win-lose. Illegals will win, America will lose.
at least that's how America has been doing things for the last 40 years.
