At the age of 4 it is sometimes hard for them to not make an accident! They become preoccupied and don't seem realize they are in underwear. You need to ask her if she has to go and take her to the bathroom every 20 minutes or so. Make sure to be constant about it and that she understands why she is in the bathroom. Explain to her when she feels she has to go she needs to get up and go to the potty and hold it till she gets to the potty! It takes time and she will come around to it! It take alot of patience from you and her! Also don't let her drink alot during the day. Alittle water or juice and Milk with each meal and a with a snack is fine! Nothing in between! GOOD LUCK!
Oh for the night time problem! Cut her off of drinking anything about an hour before bed. Make her use the potty before she goes to bed and she should sit there till she does make a tinkle! Do not put her to bed with a sippy or anything like that! The more she drinks the more she will go!!

We had to get firm with our daughter during the day (she still wears a pullup duringi the night which I am ok with). She would hold it too long during the day. We knew she was capable of doing it right because she would do it when highly motivated, like by chocolate. However she had been supposedly potty trained for 2 years, you can't give chocolate several times a day for two years. So we had to start giving consequences. We put the responsibility totally on her so it wasn't a power struggle--no reminders or anything, she just needed to take care of business. If she had an accident she went to her room for the rest of the day, if she missed a meal Oh well. This worked like a charm. She is accident free now.

If you go to the Herbal store there is a Herbal medicine that helps with bed wetting. It's a liquid that you put a few drops under the tongue before bed. I'm not quite sure why it works but it does.

My daughter is also 4 and she was having accidents all summer for no apparent reason. I tried everything but nothing worked. Now she is in preschool and she hasnt had not one accident since she started school. She tells me she is a grown up now lol. Seems like that did the trick!

At this age you have to remind them every couple of hours to go to the bathroom. Set an egg timer and tell her when the timer goes off she has to try to go potty. My mom would get us up just before she went to bed and take us to the bathroom and we would go right back to sleep, and we rarely wet the bed.
