Be thankful you don't have to eat the candy; it rots your teeth, puts pounds on your body, and is a bad example for your child. Don't take him trick or treating. Dress him up and take pictures. Take the money you would've spent for treats and give it to a charity or to a family whose kids need food and/or necessities.

Sure. Just be careful he doesn't get scared by some of the frightening costumes. I have a party every year on Halloween for my grandchildren. They dress up but would much prefer to stay at the house and hand out candy than to walk around the neighborhood trick or treating. Even the smallest ones get dressed up. Have a wonderful time.

OF COURSE YOU SHOULD!!! I can't stress it enough. That is a wonderful memory you can share with your baby later in life. We do halloween big every year. Oct. 1st Halloween statrs..at least for us. We first decorate the house. Then we go pumpkin picking (great picture taking). another day, closer to the 31st, we carve up the pumpkins or paint them. To finish up the whole holiday season you dress up and load up on candy!
My daughter was only 3 months for her 1st halloween and the prictures are priceless. She had no idea what was going on, but it didn't matter. The neighbors ohh and ahhed.
Her 2nd halloween she was just about 15 months old. She looked super cute that year too. Ohhs and ahhs were everywhere. The pics were fabulous. She loved knocking on the doors and waiting for someone to answer. We only went to a few houses that we knew. She loved it and wasn't even scared.
This year is gonna be a blast as well.\
I don't think a child is ever to young to have fun. You need to teach your little boy the tradition and plan fun stuff with him. It will be something he remembers when he is grown and has a family of his own! It may shape the way he does things with your grandkids. Most of all...just have fun with it.

I don't see a problem with it--especially if you eat the candy and you only go to a few homes.
I wouldn't say it's necessary to take him trick-or-treating, but there's no harm in getting him dressed up and going for a walk around the neighborhood while you show him off and score some candy.
I know my 1-yr old will probably enjoy all the excitement of meeting new people and seeing kids running around.

The town where my parent's live all the stores downtown stay open late on Halloween and hand out candy. I took my son when he was just barely a year old. My niece was 8 and I gave her the hard candy and just kept the chocolate without nuts for him. I would just give him 1-2 squares at a time. It lasted until Valentines Day when he got more.

I took my son last year when he was only a few months old. We went with my sisters and their kids too who were older. It wasn't that cold and I dressed him in a very warm costume. I didn't really walk up to the doors but the people insisted on giving me candy for him like he would actually get to eat it, lol. I will be taking him again this year too, he walks and knows what candy is so I see no problem with a one year old going. Just make sure he's warm and you stick to very safe neighborhoods.

I didnt' start taking out my son until he was 3 or 4 .. i did dress him up and let him help give out candy to the older kids... this was far more fun for him... even now he sometimes prefers to stay home and give it out... he gets to see all of his friends as they come by..and he might go out with them and hit on or two houses and come back a wait for the next friend to pop by..
P.S. alot of people are resentful to people who bring out ther infants for candy.. their babies dont have a clue and it is known that the parent is the candy hog..

Go ahead and dress him up, take his picture, walk or stroll him around the neighborhood! It's NOT cool to get candy that you know that you're going to eat. Some houses actually do provide treats, like goldfish crackers or teddy grahams just for littler kids. (I do that) Parents appreciate it! Have Fun!!!
