It was God's plan. Would you give your life for your spouse, children, family member or a friend?
We don't understand everything...perhaps a question we can ask when we get there?
If you read the Torah (Old Testament) there were burnt offerings for atonement.
God sent Jesus to cover all sin...and no more burnt offerings.
Since Jesus is a part of the trinity...God sent Himself as a human and did it for humanity...
God loved you enough to send Jesus. What an amazing GIFT! It bought your salvation, if you will only take it.
Grace to you and God Bless!

In the "Old Testament" one received atonement for sins through sacrifice. Jesus was the final sacrifice for Christians. Jews continued to sacrifice grains, oil, and little critters until the destruction of the 2nd Temple. The "aroma" was the only part of the sacrifice meant for God. The rest was meant for the Levite tables. The Levites didn't inherit any land, therefore the other eleven tribes supported them with sacrifices. (The Israelites learned from Abraham/Isaac that human sacrifice is never acceptable to God.)
There were no more sacrifices following the destruction of the Temple because sacrifices could only be made in the Temple as spelled out in the Old Testament. Since that time, Jewed have replaced sacrifice with prayer.

I've been saying this when the subject comes up -- no one can die for someone else, or "take away" their sins. The idea is lucicrous and insulting to the idea of "God", yet it's so deeply entrenched in the Christian psyche that they accept it fervently without even thinking about why - and they tie themselves in knots trying to justify this fallacy.
No one can "die" for anyone else. And no one can take anyone's "sins" (wrongdoings) away. Doing wrong is a void, an emptiness, a darkness where light should be. The only thing that stops a person from doing wrong is *gaining the wisdom to know it's wrong*.
The only thing that stops a "sin" is enlightenment --- comprehending why it's wrong to do that particular thing. But the Christian church began on the premise that people are stupid, and that 'God' isn't much brighter.
'God' is about truth and discovery, about living and learning. The rabbi Jesus tried to teach that, but Christianity made him a cover boy martyr for the mythological religion Paul created.

God gave Jesus Freewill to die for the sinners. He gives us all the ability to develop into a kind of sacrifice for others. If you were Jesus, would you not feel blessed to become a sacrifice for others?Jesus was sacrificed on the cross for a way out by being a physical expression of where to place ones sinful nature.Picture a world without Jesus death and you will see a world full of tormented people not knowing what forgiveness is.Jesus felt loved and gave love by abliging to the Father in Heavens will.Jesus kicked a*ss that day and I am proud of Him.Besides,if you know God,then what's Death but a mere intervening of Life Continued.God did not 'kill' Jesus.....He gave Him Eternity. Our CREATOR does not think like humans.Begin thinking like our CREATOR and you can understand what sacrifice really means.Look beyond your humanity.

Jesus's death was a symbol of the ultimate sacrafice. There is no sacrafice greater than death. He loved the world so much that He took on the burdon of the worlds sins and was sacraficed so the world could start over with a clean slate. Unfortunately, just like before, the world screwed it all up. I'm not sure if we're going to get another chance. When He comes again theres going to be hell to pay.

Right, "modern" Christianity is derived from some VERY OLD myths, including offering a scapegoat as a sin offering. Both animals and humans used to be sacrificed to appease the gods. People need to read ancient history and get a clue. However, they would rather live in a la la land where their leaders tell them when to jump and how high, all in the name of pleasing god. What a farce!

Your understanding of this most basic theological principle is sorely lacking. It nothing like what you describe.
Here's how it goes:
Jesus allowed himself to be put to death by the forces of evil so that Satan's legitimate authority over mankind could legally be taken away.
Satan had no right to arrange the crucifixion of Jesus, but he did it anyway ... through his loyal subjects (the Romans and the corrupt Jews).
Once Jesus had been unjustly put to death, Satan had to answer for it, as he was without a doubt, the prince (ruler) of this world.
As a result, God legally took away all that Satan had gained from Adam's sin, raised Jesus from the dead, and promptly appointed Jesus the new head of all mankind.
God's confidence in the great work of his perfect and triumphant son led him to grant forgiveness for sin, and grace, through his church, to all those who believe in him.
The rest is history.

The definition of "ransom" is a price paid to buy back or bring about release from some obligation or undesireable circumstance.
Adam basically "sold himself" into sin because he wanted to continue with his wife more than he wanted to obey God. In doing so, he gave up his "perfect" life in exchange for a "sinful" one.
God's perfect justice requires a corresponding ransom. (example - eye for an eye). When Adam did that, he condemned the rest of us to imperfection because once he was sinful, he could produce perfect children. Since no perfect human could be born from imperfect men, there would never be another person who could replace what Adam lost. In fact, Psalm 49:8 says that the redemption price was so precious that it has ceased to time indefinite...meaning that no man is able to redeem himself or anyone else.
God, however, made provisions to buy us out of sin by sending his son Jesus to earth to sacrifice his perfect life (which was perfect BECAUSE he remained obedient to God even to death) to replace the perfect life that Adam lost.
We can only comprehend justice on the level of a sinful human. God, however, is perfect. He also knows that he can and will undo death in the future. (1 Corinthians 15:26) Jesus knew this as well, and he VOLUNTARILY submitted to carry out the assignment to redeem mankind from sin.
Hope this helps. :)

Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins.
The OT priests had sacrificial lambs to atone for the sins of the people. The lambs had to be unblemished.
The wages of sin is death. That is why we all die, because we all have sinned somewhere somehow.
Jesus was born of a virgin, with out the sins nature. Though He had to be tempted like the first Adam to defeat the devil's lies.
Jesus could only atone for our sins by being sinless. He is the Sinless Lamb of God.
Even one sin will keep us out of heaven. So there had to be an atonement for sins. That is why only those redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb go to heaven to be with God. Jesus shed His own blood for the remission of our sins. We just need to believe in Him & confess Him Lord of our lives, believe in the atonement & resurrection.
The victory over death happened when Jesus rose from the dead. If He had sinned He would not have risen from the dead victorious. He was victorius for every one. So we can receive the gift of everlasting life.
When we go to heaven, sin isn't going there with us. We go, redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus. God doesn't see our sin. God sees the righteousness of His Son Jesus Christ.

When Jesus died he went to the gates of Hell and took on every sin and the sins yet to be sins and paid for them all. Since he is the son of God he was able to take these sins in our stead. We though still have free will and must request that our sins be removed from record and so the Book of Life shows no sin, so that when we die our heavenly father can look on us and tell us to enter his kingdom. It gets deeper the more you do not understand. For more questions you should seek someone that has all the info to your questions, a pastor, or deacon someone very learned in this idea.
