The thing is: i'm in summer, don't have anything on my mind, and i'm spending some of my nights (once each week or two) drinking at pubs and so...

I just want ur opinion, i don't wanna turn into an alcoholic, so should i have a drink at home if i'm spendin the night listenin to music alone ? It wouldn't hurt right ?

I think pubs and bars are good if you are going with (a) friend(s). Having a drink at home is good if you are planning on relaxing with music or a good book or if you are very sensitive to alcahol or plan on having more than you usually do. I don't recommend having very many drinks at either place, not healthy.

Welllll-as an older lady my suggestion is-enjoy 1 or 2 at home 1 or 2 nights only. I have seen too many friends start out with drinking at home 1 or 2, then it turned into 2 or 3, then 3 or 4 & so on. Soon they were going to the Pub for the companionship and having 3 or 4 drinks or more, then pretty soon they had their own bar stool at the pub (no one sat in it because they knew it was the chair that Bob, or Joe, or Ken, or Mary or Jane always sat in for hours on end).. Pretty soon they were not eating but only 1 meal a day and the rest they were drinking, and finally they started feeling sick. Went to the Dr. and their liver was in bad shape. If you can be a RESPONSIBLE drinker and only drink moderately - then the best is at home most of the time to save big bucks. Good Luck in your decision.

I prefer drinking at home. I don't have to worry about some bartender not taking my car keys and calling my husband or a cab. I don't have to sit in my house and wonder how the h**l did I make it home as drunk as I was without killing someone. I can pass out on my own couch or bed not someone I left the bar with and I have no clue who they are, what did we do, if we did, did we use protection. I don't do this every weekend but I do get drunk at least once a month. At home where I can hurt no one, kill no one, end up with a stranger who could turn out to be a rapist, not be on the streets where some gang members could beat me up for my purse and what little money would be in there.
I turn on my music, mellow out, start drinking margaritas and either get lost in the music, get up and dance by myself, read a book. Depends on the mood. Mood also determines how much I'll drink. Good mood. One or two and I'm done. Bad mood. I've been known to drink the whole fifth of tequila by myself. See why I prefer to stay home and drink!!!

I only drink at home. It's a lot less expensive and I'm just not into the bar scene. I really see nothing wrong with drinking at home. I actually think it's safer, since you won't be driving and there isn't a risk of having accidental unprotected sex, etc. I drink once or twice a week, but even having a glass of wine a day doesn't mean you are an alcoholic. Just be aware of your drinking and as long as you aren't drinking in excess nearly every day, it's fine.

I think your attitude is the mentality of a "responsible drinker."

When you're at home:

1) You don't have to worry aboug designated drivers
2) If you drink too much, you don't put yourself or others at risk
3) No one can judge you when you're in your own personal space
4) It's cheaper where you don't need to get a taxi
5) You can listen to whatever music you want since it's your own personal space
6) You're less likely to get into a brawl with disagreeable types
7) If you do anything silly or make an *** out of yourself, no one will ever know because you're at home and can do whatever you like
8) You know the music playing at home is stuff you like because you chose it vs. being at a pub
9) You have to share the jukebox or player with other people and they may be playing songs you don't care for
10) If you want to sleep, you can either just crash on your couch and snooze or your bed is just a couple feet away

The roads would be safer at night if more people who wanted to drink took this approach.

If you are questioning your drinking habits then you may be overindulging too much. If the pob is a social environment for you go out and enjoy but you can always have something without alcohol. A drink is not a bad thing but too many , too often or used as a coping mechanism is...So you need to evaluate your behavior and see if you can do without or not. If not find a support group to help you get more control.

Well, if you don't already have a problem, then I think that it would be ok. As long as u don't drink too muck too often, then you should be fine. Anyways, drinking at pubs can lead to trouble with people--especially if you end up getting drunk. Just b careful,
and cautious, and you'll get along fine.

i'd say don't. drinking should imho always be a social thing. so, of course when you have people over it's totally ok to drink at home, but drinking at home on your own can very quickly become a crutch or a replacement activity for doing better things.
