I have 9 younger siblings. When they all lived at home we would go and see each one and bring a gift and have cake and everything. Now three of them are married (as am I) and living away from home. What should I do when their brithday comes up? Send them a card? A gift? An ecard? None of them have parties or anything. Also, should I do anything for their spouses birthday? This is just so confusing! We still visit the siblings that live at home on their birthdays and take a gift and everything. It seems weird to stop celebrating the other ones just because they are married.

I just call and say Happy Birthday! and have a nice chat. If I happen to see something just perfect, I'll buy that and send it, but usually, just a phone call. Same for spouses.
But I think it depends on your family. If everyone in the family is super into doing presents, then that's different. I don't think there's 1 right way. Just whatever you and your siblings are happy with.

I would send cards to my siblings, and e-cards to their spouses. Maybe for a special birthday (like 30, 40, 50, etc.) I would send them a special gift. If they've got a funny bone, send them gag gifts on those special days. Otherwise, keep it simple. You could go broke otherwise. <*)))><

I would get my siblings a gift (no matter what age--give them something that enhances a hobby). For the in-laws, I believe a card is more than sufficient, unless you're really close.

Either send a card or call them and wish them a happy Birthday. The point being...you remembered them! And make it clear that a remembrance is all you expect for your birthday too. Godloveya!

we throw down and party with a cook out. for gifts get them comfortable tshirts and pitch in on the cook out by bringing the potato salad or something. maybe even their favorite dish if it fits in. if a cook out cant be arranged, think about the things your brother or sister has mentioned and had interest in. dont get a gift card. its too "cold". but i think everyone likes to have a cook out.
