1-put the document in the scanner and click scan
2-scanner will do a pre-scan
3-if you like the pre-scan, click full-scan
4-after it is finished the scanner will ask you WOULD YOU LIKE TO PRINT TO PRINTER OR PRINT TO FILE OR CANCEL
5-its your choice after this 3 choices
1PRINT TO PRINTER makes a paper copy
2PRINT TO FILE saves it on your pc for later
3CANCEL will erase it
