Your question looks so strange.....As if you are an alien.

Hey....Hinduism is nothing but worshiping nature. Nature needs no upgradation. No one could control or upgrade it. If man says I am to rule. nature will say, You are a fool.

Not only animals we all respect every particle in this universe. Why it may look funny to you. Students worship their books, pen or even this computer through which I am answering you. All these because of the respect we have towards an object and we see god in everything and everywhere. Whatever taken is taken from here and whatever given is given only here. Nature is stable. Men may come and men may go but nature remain here forever.

We too worship plants, trees flowers whatever in this nature. Because we see God in everything.

We don't kill any animal or eat it. We don't harm anything. We respect the nature most so we worship that.

In every person we see god. According to Hinduism God is Flame from which all the souls were lit up.

Our religion have made us matured enough to answer your rubbish question. Think why your religion failed to do that??????

Do you even know what the Hindi faith-system is? It's more like a culture than a religion, with lots of local gods and goddesses for their communities, which the British decided to lump under one word "Hindi", named after the Hindus or Indus river valley. Why should they ever stop worshipping their gods just because you aren't a member of their culture? It's at least as much a part of their lives as Thanksgiving and driving on the right side of the road is for us.

When will people like you stop looking down on other religions? The word is HINDU. Yay...you learnt to spell a word today. Well your highness, for your information, Hindus know that all life comes from God and therefore God exists in all life forms. Hinduism is very symbolic and different animals represent different concepts. For example the cow represents mother because as babies when we cannot get our mother's milk, we drink cow's milk. Cow's milk sustains our life. In this way, the cow plays the role of our mother. Does anyone want to kill his mother and eat her? The snake is symbolic of Kundalini energy which exists in everyone. The energy lies coiled at the base of the spine and when we become more spiritually conscious, this energy travels upward (similar to a snake). As the energy travels upward, our chakras or spiritual centres along the spine are opened and we become closer to God. (Christians refer to chakras as the mansions of the soul). Monkeys are worshipped because when the Lord manifested as Hanumanji on this earth he was portrayed throughout time as a monkey. He was not a monkey but was a Vedic scholar. He was portrayed as a monkey because he belonged to a tribe of people who had large jaws (like monkeys). Rats are worshipped beacuse when the Lord is manifested as Ganesh, he has a rat with him. The rat symbolizes that there is nothing wrong with keeping company with those who are humble and meek. I don't know what you are talking about when you say upgrading in religion. Hinduism is probably the oldest religion in the world and the Vedas are probably the oldest books which were revealed knowledge gifted by God to the first sages on this earth. Hindus believe in a God who is formless who is present in all living creatures on earth. God is represented by many symbols but not limited to them. Instead of criticizing others you must realize that we all pray to one God who is called by different names. This is affirmed in the Vedas. Hindus have many names for God but the truest name is Om. To prove that we pray to the same God, consider this...in the Bible it is said that in the beginning was the word and the word was God. Scientists have affirmed that the first sound to come out of creation was Om.

Cows give you milk which is the only best subsitute to a mothers milk and i need not name the other products of milk,
Monkeys and other animals are the part and parcel of the nature worsshipping them was made a part of our culture and civilization so that they are not killed and ecological balance is maintained .
This is the scientific reason .we a have a God superior to yours reason our GOd has never said i have created all these for you so go and eat them. He has said I am omni present ,I dont sit in heaven or hell I live within you and around you so worship any and it reaches me.(So he has a future eye -eco balance) ,than why so many species extinction reason entry of barbaric religions christianity and islam in India.
So start respecting the animals around you,the plants and trees around you, people around you and you go to heaven bocoz you know respecting every living being on this earth.for this you need not carry a bible to church on sunday or 5 times a day namaz .
all these animals help you in one way or other and are seen, but have you ever seen your god or has he ever helped you.
understood the essence of HINDUISM.
Hinduism is the best.

as a prior poster mentioned, that is not worshiping a cow, it is greater like thinking them sacred... in fact, why chew the hand that feeds you? provides milk, cheese, yogurt, fertilizer and so on and so on secondly the faith would not "command" all and dissimilar to do something. it "reccomends", tells you what it is better so you might do.. there isn't set practise to be a hindu... it is greater of a lifestyle than faith.. although if i've got been area of a faith that 'commanded' me to worship a creature then i'd seek for solid reason, if not satisfied, would disown the faith. greater information on hinduism, hindu's and their ideals and structures may well be got here across rather on wikipedia

u should have noticed that all hindu gods are accommpanied with different animals which have a specific meaning. you dont worship the animals but the deity who controls the animality in a person. like a cow known to be full of lust so shiva controls the lust in a person and a swan known to be intelligent is control by the goddess of knowledge saraswati not to be arrogant. and it continues like that for every animal which represent animality in a person and the gods overpowers them.

Atleast they are not fanatics. This is the oldest civilisation and each and every religion has its roots in Hinduism. This is a very great philosophy and beyond your limits to understand what they see when they worship. Please don't talk about logic and modernisation for heaven's sake. If you can't bring peace atleast learn how not to disturb peace.

We would like to know which modern perfect religion is yours?. I would like to know your religion and why do you hide it while provoking others?. Write it on top.

Okay, 1st of all upgradation is required only when a particular thing is unable to move with the times.Hinduism has no element which is or can be outdated.
Let me tell u about Hinduism 1st.U r so totally ignorant about it. It is based on the concept of Trinity (which u probably copied later) of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu & Lord Mahesh (Shiva) & the existence of 1 supreme God Who is timeless, undefined, has no form, no gender,.............. All the other Gods r 'avatars' of the Trinity or normal ppl who attained divinity thru yoga. Acc. to Hinduism, there is a part of the Supersoul in every soul & hence, every creature is divine. When u bow to someone or greet some1, u're actually doing it 2 the divine soul present in him/her/it
Talking about Cow, Hinduism places Mother in the highest respect. It says, 'Maata, Pita, Guru, Deva' ,i.e., 'Mother, Father, Teacher & God'. Acc. to a very famous incident, when Lord Krishna came to meet His devout follower ( a young boy), He was apparently asked to wait by the boy since he was serving his parents. He happily waited 4 him. Mother is called so because she feeds us with her milk.Mother is so not by the virtue of giving birth but by the virtue of suckling & nurturing us.Hence, cow is respected & venerated by Hindus.Afterall, she provides us her milk. U won't understand it since in the West, children kill their very parents, lodge FIR against them, disown them,............... We, Indians, r emotional ppl & respect human-values.
When the entire world was hit by plague,a temple in Rajasthan which is full of mice & where ppl drink the milk which has been drank by mice were never affected by it. Is it just a coincidence??
Our God Himself came to the earth to protect us & preach the art of pure living. He came in diff. avatars such as "matasya" (fish), etc. to preach that all living creatures r equal. They have the right to live just like u. Lord Hanuman( Monkey God) is another eg.
Snakes rn't killed in India.Probably that's y, serpentologist frm all over the world come to India to study it & it's unique species endemic to India.Whereas in other countries, they're either on the verge of extinction or r extinct.Recently British serpentologists came to Karnataka (India) &they were all praise for us sice we don't kill them & unnecessarily damage the fragile balance of nature.Snakes r Lord Shiva's creatures.
Such is the far-sightedness & greatness of Hinduism that nearly all animals r shown to be linked to God in some way so that , if not on scientific bases( ecological-balance), they're not killed atleast, on religious bases.Eg: swan is shown to be the "vahana" (vehicle) of Lord Brahma, eagle of Lord Vishnu,............
Yoga, Ayurveda, etc. r all gifts of Hinduism. You have no knowledge of this gr8 religion. It is so deep that u can be an atheist & still a Hindu,a theist & still a Hindu, a monotheist , a polytheist, an idol-worshipper(sagun bhakti), not an idol-worshipper (nirgun bhakti), & still be a Hindu. There is a guideline for each kind of person. For atheists, thr is a code of conduct & moral lesson based on the "Bhagvada Gita" ( holy book). That's y theologists all over the world quip that no 1 can be ex-communicated frm Hinduism.
We consider all living creatures divine. That has helped us to preserve the bounties of nature which is very much the need of the hour.
We don't ask others to convert, we don't kill the infidels, we don't resort to violence over petty issues. Hinduism says "Live & Let Live."
I hope it's clear to u now, u imbicile. The same God created all the creatures. That means thr is some divinity in each creture. We worship that divinity. And y shudn't we??? I shudn't be calling u names since it'd insult the Supersoul in u. But I'm not that priggish.
The Vedas, the Upanishads, & the Gita r so rich with morals & values. Google it & try reading it. It should remove the malice & hatred out of you.
OM SHANTI!
