Water Tablets are also known as purification tablets mainly used for hikers and mountain climbers. Its to somehow purify the water in the nature for example river water so as to help to kill any bacteria in the water b4 drinking them. Its only precautionary measure..... If u have the extra time, its better to boil the water b4 drinking as boiling would also help to kill bacteria.

They are diuretics...they increase the amout of urine you make, which causes your body to get rid of excess water. The prescription water pills are also used to treat high blood pressure, which lowers high blood pressure, helps prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems. They also reduce swelling/fluid retention seen with conditions such as congestive heart failure, liver disease or kidney disease and can improve breathing. They should be taken early in the day.

water tablets are used by hikers, primarily, to decontaminate water from streams and rivers before they drink it. makes the wter taste like crap but does kill a majority of bacteria in the water prior to ingesting it.
