Moses allowed divorce, Jesus disallowed it and also allowed it, Paul allowed it, and Ezra actually commanded it to appease God (Ezra 10). How is an honest Christian supposed to know what to do in this area?

I think for the same reasons we as christian disagree on these issues today; we all have our own beliefs, disbeliefs, and opinions. In this situations, it feel that one has to be lead by their own heart. If you marry, and can't find peace in that marriage, if divorce is the only choice, then divorce. If you feel that marriage is not for you, then don't marry. But at the same time remember if your going to be sexually active and live with someone, Jesus said, its better to marry than to burn. Paul, Ezra, Moses and others were mere modern men like us today with their own faults and opinions. So I would say follow your heart and listen closely, and be lead by God alone.

They don't disagree. Since the beginning, divorce wasn't God's plan. Moses allowed it because of the hardness of man's heart.

God doesn't like divorce. But sometimes because of the hardness of man's heart, it happens.

Jesus mentioned reasons, adultary, idolatry or fornications. Paul said that if a believer's spouse doesn't believe, stay with. But if unbeliever hates the believing spouse, let unbeliever go.

God doesn't want divorce. But if an honest Christian is considering it, does the unbelieving spouse hate you or abuse you & can't stand being with you? Is your spouse commiting adultary against you? Is your spouse threatening your health or life?

If you are both obedient Christians, you just need counseling. Let God mend your marriage.

Because none of those men wrote the words attributed to them. They were written hundreds of years later to promote the agenda the patriarchs who wrote them wanted.
