She understands that you are a self-obsessed insecure teenager who is incapable of making rational decisions that are not clouded by your hormone-induced emotional fluctuations.
Deal with it baby!

Sit down and talk with her. Ask her if she will listen to you for an hour.
Explain to her how you feel, and what you would like in the relationship. Explain what showing you respect would look like to you, so she knows and doesn't have to guess. Then ask her what you can do to gain her respect.
Then, the hardest part. Listen VERY closely to what she says and DON'T interrupt her for anything.
When she's done, ask her if she can set a side an hour a month for you two to talk about your relationship.
Try to adopt some of the things that she said you could do to earn her respect.
After a month, check in and see how you are doing with her.
Good luck!

I think you have the shoe on the wrong foot. It is you who must
respect your mother. try telling your mother that you love her. Teens have a hard time listening to any thing that mom says. In
years to come you will remember all the things she did for you.
Stop with the whining--and start growing up!!!!

I have never gotten along with my mother.I have tried for many many years and it seems as if no matter what I do it will never be good enough for her. I've tried talking to her but she could care less what I have to say. I have given up worrying about this. I am now focusing on making myself happy. You cannot change someone who is stuck in their ways!

I wasn't close to my mom either, I spent 40 years trying to win her approval before I realized that NOTHING AND NOBODY was every going to make her happy. I felt the weight of the world lifted off of my shoulders when I realized this....you still have to respect her though she is your mom
