I think it's the other way around. People who are in a position to be manipulated start relying on faith alone.

Yes, I believe they do. If one relies only on their faith, the people that taught them this faith have a certain control over the individual. This can allow manipulation if the teachers of the faith decide to act upon this.

I think people who have faith dont rely on it alone and so therefore they do not put themselves in a manipulated position. with faith comes so much more and alone is not in there.

Not necessarily. There is a difference between blind faith (stupidity) and being a person with faith. Part of the component of having faith is also using the tools provided by that belief so you avoid being manipulated.

Sometimes, I think it depends on they type of people you are talking about. I don't think there's anything wrong with having faith in a higher being. But some people are just really out there with it...those are the ones I think can be easily manipulated (think about those poor saps who followed TV Evangelist's then found out about all the fraud and whatnot)

Just because they rely on faith doesn't mean you don't use good judgment and the brains God gave you to avoid being manipulated.

Yes. I'm an atheist but i'm not 'anti faith'. I simply want people to make up their own minds without following blindly. I think this is the problem that many people suffer from, they don't have their own questions of beliefs, simply repeated doctrine.
