What do you think?
Action on the fence comes four months after the Senate approved legislation that, along with tightening border security, created a guest worker program and outlined how people in the country illegally could work toward legal status and eventual citizenship.
President Bush, in an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, said he would sign a fencebuilding bill as part of efforts to strengthen the border. "I don't view this as the final product. And I will keep urging people to have a comprehensive reform."

Democrats are fighting fence since Hispanics voted
61% for Clinton
55% for Gore
47% for Kerry ( drop of Hispanic vote cost him the election).
The Democrats do not want to make Hispanics mad - they
are a a large per cent-age of voters & with new voting rules like in NC - to get a drivers license all you need is proof of address & to vote all you need is a drivers license. Likely to soon cause more Hispanics than Blacks or Whites to be able to vote.

I will fight for border protection until we open all borders, why should Europeans have to follow rules of immigration if Mexico does not.

I like the building of the fence, we need a fence, border patrol has no way of knowing who is comming in our conutry.

In Vensuela the number one industry is oil. In china the number one industry is manufacturing, in Mexico the number one industry is money being sent home from illegal workers. This is our money that is no longer in circulation in the U.S. This is sucking the american economy dry. Because we know money leaving circulation hurts us we have tarifs on all forign goods...

I would set up a worker program like this. A farmer needs workers to work his farm, so he goes to the government that has a list of workers, and pays for a plane ticket and housing. and can only be in the U.S. for 8 months maximum, then by law they will have to go home for 6. These workers will be documented, and will pay taxes and pay into social security without collecting later. This is the only fair way to do it. (this is how Canada gets workers from mexico)

I have worked out of country, and i had to pay taxes and i was a documented to work. Which was fair because im taking all my earnings back to america with me when i leave.

the bill is already passed its just smoke and mirrors they dont even have a price yet or where to get funding or how much they want to spend so dont get worked up just yet......as far as citizen shipif you break the law you should not be rewarded with what you wanted in the first place its just like a thief sneaking in stealing the hope diamond and getting caught then the cop/judge saying you were wrong but here you can have it anyway ....just do things the right way and there will be no problem.

Democrats would rather waste their time on trivial issues like saving the stingrays than deal with an issue that actually could have some impact on our society....they look at abortion as a cause..I mean look at how hypocritical their stance on anything is...just depends on which way the wind is blowing.

Guest Worker Programs are basically amnesty in my opinion. That's what Republicans believe in.
