If he made us in his own image, why did he not make us all male and asexual? He was clearly capable of providing humans with the capacity to reproduce asexually, as many other organisms do.

Keyser Söze,
No one is stopping you, what you must do, go. And try not to do it too quickly.

Your premise is a bit off. I agree and so does the rest of the world that we have animalistic instincts. However, we are more than just instinctual creatures, we are also rational creatures. Therefore, we understand that sex is more than just propogating the species. Sex is a spiritual and physical expression of Love (but it is not love itself) and as rational creatures we understand that sex has its proper place to have its proper effect, which is in marriage. And to offer a small lesson in Latin to answer your other statement of why did God not make us asexual, I will tell you where the word sex comes from. The word is derived from the Latin word Secare, which means to separate or cut off. Now how did it come to mean sex? Simply because of what occurs between separated things; their union. If we were not made into different sexes and had sex, then we would never understand what it is to be attracted to the other and love the other. Love and attraction could not be known by an asexual organism.
And finally since we are sexual beings, separated beings seeking union, then we ought to thank God for creating us with sexuality and the ability to have sex.
However, I offer a caveat (a warning) love can only be properly and fully experienced within marriage. Fornication and Adultery are not proper to the nature of love. What do I mean? Within love their is committment. Fornication and Adultery betray the committed nature of love for another and only that other. As human beings if we do not commit to another for life, then we will be acting below our nature, which is human and not purely animal.
May the Lord bless and keep you. May He let the light of His face shine upon you.

God's and your beast of burden

Asexual reproduction has no need for others...sexual activity in its purest and best form is done with another person.

Also we might have the instincts of apes, but we have the intellect of humans...one can choose to live as a human making choices or be dictated to by the body like an animal.

Yes, we do have the sexual equipment and instincts of apes. We are all born with a sinful nature because of Adam and Eve's disobedience to God. We sin and we always will. However, God tells us to save the intimacy of sex for marriage. God says that he wants us to enjoy each other in marriage.

Our natural ability to sin is the reason that we all need Jesus Christ. Jesus came to the earth to become the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of those who repent (turn away from sin) and accept Him as their Lord and Savior.

We sin but, Jesus was without sin which makes Him the only sacrifice that God will accept.

God loves you and me so much that He sent His Son to die in our place for the wrongs that we have committed, commit, and will commit.

Those of us who love Him, rely on His Holy Spirit to lead us to do the right things. We do still mess up but, when our hearts are right, God's grace covers us.

"Fornication" is a human social and cultural construct. It's evident to me for many reasons that there is no cosmic mind guiding the process of evolution. So... we've got what we've got, and we have to make the most of it.

That said: I think that love and honesty require committed monogamy for their fullest expression. I say this not as a traditional believer, but as one who's spent half a lifetime in self-observation.

And BTW, among primates, there is a wide variety of patterns of sexual expression. Chimps, bonobos, and humans are all quite different.

It is said the first human life form was hermaphrodite. Having both sexes like some humans today. Knowing human nature
as I unfortunately asked to understand. (Be careful what you
ask for, you WILL get it!) I presume they were too selfish to
impregnate themselves. Therefore, at some point, Higher
Intelligences created the division of male and female, and
gave us our sex "drive", in order to guarantee survival of the species.

God does want you to fornicate!!!!! That's the good news. The bad news is, he wants you to think about it and consider the consequences of how often, and with whom, you choose to fornicate. That's why he invented veneral diseases and jealous lovers with violent tendencies. If we didn't fornicate, there would be no human race, by strict biblical logic--after all, if it is to be assumed that He created Adam and Eve, and they were the only two people on the planet, they HAD to sin in order to create more people, because there was nobody else around who could've married them. (No witnesses either, to say nothing of the caterers!)
So fornicate away, my friend, and enjoy the fruits of your animal lusts--just be wary of venereal diseases, and jealous lovers.

He created us out of love. He wants us to have a relationship, sexual relationship with one spouse. Look what God did with Adam and Eve,
Gen 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it."

Sounds like He gave us our blessing but not to have sexual relationships with everyone. One man and one woman.

Who said God did not want us to fornicate? How do you think we would reproduce.

Fornicate - voluntary sexual intercourse other than between a married couple, especially where either person or both persons are unmarried.

Do you think Adam and Eve were married!

God wants us to fornicate, read song of songs! God created sex for us to ENJOY! within the context of marriage, because that's how he designed it, that's how it can be best enjoyed to its fullest. he made us in his own image, but God doesn't have a body, he doesn't reproduce, he creates. he has no beginning and no end... although he did begot Jesus, it wasn't through fornication.

You mistook the scripture. "In God's image" Means in his likeness, and that is not referring to looks. It's more along the lines that we have a soul, unline any other living thing on earth.
