Anyone that says try this diet you'll lose 500lb in 20 mins (or words to that effect) is an idiot!!! don't listen to them they do not know hat they are talking about this does not work - fact!!!

If you lose weight quickly with a crash diet then your body adjusts so that is becomes really efficient at storing your food as fat. Meaning when you stop dieting you pile the weight straight back on probably more than you originally lost

Sorry but the doctors answer is the best here. Eat a healthy balanced diet, replace processed carbohydrates for bread, potatoes, rice and pasta, cut out the take aways and snacks and take regular exercise. There is no quick fix to weight loss but the most effective way to lose weight and keep it off is to lose it slowly!

A friend of mine lost over 10st in weight over 18 months doing this (fair enough she had a lot to lose) but she looks great now. However the most important thing is that although she still eats sensibly she can have the odd treat every now and again and it doesn't go straight back to her waist.

Just eat a sensible balanced diet with plenty of fruit and veg, and do plenty of exercise. Taking the stairs not the lift, walking or cycling rather than taking the car or bus where possible are easy ways to increase your levels of activity. Also try to do 30 mintutes vigourous exercise at least 3 times a week.

Dieting often doesn't help with weight loss, if you cut your food intake your body goes into "starvation mode" and burns muscle as well as fat. Dieting often fails to teach you healthy eating habits, which can lead to yo-yo dieting. Improving the quality of your diet is by far the healthiest and most effective way to lose weight and keep it off. To help you balance your meals, I'm told that as a *ROUGH* guide the protein content of your meal should be about the size of the palm of your hand, the carbohydrate content should be about the size of your fist and a portion of fruit or veg is about as much as you can get in your hand. You should try to vary the fruit and veg in your diet and fruit juice only counts as one portion no matter how much you drink.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. If you want to do it the fastest way possible, just stop eating.

However, that's incredibly stupid and unhealthy.

1) Get out of the "Get thin quick" phase. Beauty isn't determined by weight. True weight loss takes time AND effort. You can't just take a pill and expect it to vanish overnight. Sorry.

2) Exercise every night--even if you only walk for 30 minutes a night. I lost 50 inches in 3 months by running each night and doing pilates a few times a week.

3) Don't diet, but eat responsibly. Do you really need all of that? Listen to your body. If you cut out your favorite foods, you're just going to want them more. Eat in MODERATION.

4) Drink a lot of water and cut out pop and alcohol.

5) Don't depend on food for entertainment or support.

The banana and milk diet with exercise of choice worked best for me.
A medium banana is a meal and a glass of skimmed milk is a meal. You are allowed nine meals a day in any combination of the two and unlimited non calorie drinks although it is best if you just drink water.
The first couple of days are hardest but I ended up having trouble fitting all nine in after a week.
I lost my ginormous bum on this diet too and it stayed away.

buy a trampoline!!! they are addictive and knackering with no skill involved. Also eat healthy snacks instead of eating choco bars and crisps such as raisins and nuts.
Whenever your bored at home, just do a few press ups and sit ups then gradually increase the repetition.

Healthy eating and exercise is the best way to diet and keep it off. eat little and often and drink plenty of water, eat plenty of fruit and veg and swap white bread, pasta for wholemeal. good luck and use a food diary to show what you actually eat and drink every day.
