I stick to a pretty good diet consisting of soups, fruits, granola bars, yogurt, etc. Sometimes I get these intense cravings for sweets so I over indulge until I feel sick and don't want them anymore... Does anyone else do this or have any opinions on this? Just wondering! Thanks.

Binge eating sweets usually will raise your blood sugar levels to
the point that you should have a shot of insulin. A huge rise in blood sugar can and usually leads to a hyperglycemia attack. This is an emergency situation. If its not an every day habit I would not be that concerned, unless you eat the whole pint or more of ice cream. Or the whole pie or cake. Then you are leading to a very inconvenient and very uncomfortable way of living as a diabetic, which can lead to blindness and amputations. Next time you see your Doctor ask to have an
A1C blood test, it detects all of your bloodsugar levels for the previous 3 months. She or he will know after the results what steps you should follow to avoid diabetes.

It is bad if you're eating anything and it makes you feel sick. As I've been getting older, I've been cutting out sugar from my diet. I still overindulge once in a while but its just a matter of being pragmatic about it. Do I need it or just want it? Or I treat myself if I have achieved a particular challenging goal. You can't treat this like feast or famine. Instead of having 20 cookies at a time. Maybe one cookie for dessert.

Yes, this is absolutely bad! Try instead eating small doses of sweets to curb your cravings instead of avoiding them completely until you binge. Also, if you must binge on something sweet, try eating raisins or another sweet fruit. The sugar in fruits should reduce your cravings and is much healthier for you. Plus you will get a dose of vitamens and fiber.

Its not very healthy. You should indulge once and a while and instead of eating tons of sweet a one everyso often. I know eating you feeling can help but, you should try eating yogurt with fruit in it sweet and healthy at the same time! Don't binge it, it can screw up you body. Eating normal portions to eating HUGE portions yuor stomcah cannot handle it.

this is very normal, i have it too.... especially after eating anything salty, peppery or garlicky.

my solution, if i absolutely have to have something... nestle quik choc milk mix in skim milk.

every friday night i have my "free" time that i can eat all the chocolate i want.... usually between 8pm and 10pm. if i have this to look forward too then i'm not so inclined to binge... i tell myself i can resist now because i know i can have what i crave that friday night without guilt.

hope this helps.

Binge eating isn't healthy, just as binge drinking. Both can damage your healt and your body. It's okay to eat sweets with moderation.

As long as it is once a year or so. I think it would be better if you allowed yourself some sweets in moderation rather than binge.
