Christians and the bible has been around a lot longer than you.

Christians and the bible will be around a lot longer than you.

We've had over 2,000 years to study and work out every argument there is.

By the way, this is a religious board.....not an anti-religious board.

Unfortunately, you're right! The Bible, unlike many think, doesn't contradict itself. It looks at both sides of the story.
Most people only see what agrees with their own thinking, and
ignore anything that doesn't.
I feel we are supposed to ask for guidance when we search
any kind of "inspired" writing. That way, if we get a little too
conservative. Spirit will lead us to something more liberal. And
if we get a little too liberal. Spirit will lead us to something more
conservative.
Humans are emotional creatures, and Higher Intelligence
understands this. But our Highest Power wants us to have
an EVEN mind.

Yes, if you misquote, and quote things out of context you can probably argue any point with bible quotes to back it up.

That is why it is important to get an understanding of the bible in context, to read the whole thing and to truly understand all that the bible is teaching. That way you will not be led astray by lies and deceptions!

Yea here's one for you, doll:

"Knowing this, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts..."
(2 Peter 3:3)

" Now the Spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy..."(1Tim.4:1)

noting your mulitple questions...i'm sensing you have a lot of anger towards the bible? I doubt you could use the bible to argue for the holocaust or racism or homosexuality, so i'll have to say no. i'm sure you could find contradictory things in the bible if you took things out of context...mormons do it all the time! (no offense....but they really do!)

You are so, so right. They choose the bits they want to, and if anyone points out the stupid bits , eg

You must not shave or cut the corners of the hairs of your head and you are not to trim (mar or clip off) the edge (corners) of your beard
Lev. 19:27

they say, "Well it was written a long time ago by fallible men".

C'Mon! You can't have it both ways!!
