today. Its a christian run place, and they provide free tests. While there the lady asked me if she could share her views with me and I said of course, even though I am an atheist, I welcome other peoples views. At the end of her speel, she said,
"so basically people like me are going to heaven and people like you are going to hell."
I was a little shocked at how she phrased that, even though I understand it is what she believes, I think there was a better, more appropriate way to say it. What is your opinion?

Wait.....you went in for a pregnancy TEST and she said this to you? Yeah right, she's going to heaven.............Sounds pretty un-christian to me. She was rude and out of line.
If you are, then do what you think is best for you and your situation. Don't let ANYONE pressure into a decision. Follow YOUR heart and beliefs not theirs.

I agree, maybe there was a better way to say it. My sis was at the hospital having an ultrasound the other day and the lady doing the ultrasound told her, "God gave you a brain, why do you keep getting pregnant?" Maybe it's the ladies in that line of work? lol. i don't know.
Although She may have been able to say it better, how do you niceley and comfortingly tell someone they're going to hell? you don't, you can't, because hell isn't a comforting place and it's not a comforting message. What she SHOULD have ended with is, "basically, Jesus died for your sins because God loved you so much. If you accept Jesus and ask for forgiveness for your sins, you'll go to heaven." That should be the point of the message. Although, the logical end to that would be that if you're not going to heave you're obviously going to.....?

She is making alot of assumptions - nobody can judge a person's heart except God himself.
I just wanted to say that if you are pregnant and you are thinking of having an abortion, there are so many couples that cannot have children that would be forever blessed by an addition to their family.
I am such a person.
I can tell you that you may think abortion is the easy way out, but the fact is, it is a decision that will haunt you for the rest of your life. Make a choice that you will be proud of for the rest of your life, not ashamed of. If you don't want to give up your child, there are so many programs out there that can help you financially and emotionally to raise your child.
Please reject abortion, it is the worst possible choice you can make.

My opinion is that if the place was a Christian run place, it should employ Christians. The lady you talked to did not sound like one to me.
"What glorious hope!" Mauriac writes. "There are all those who will discover that their neighbor is Jesus himself, although they belong to the mass of those who do not know Christ or who have forgotten Him. And nevertheless they will find themselves well loved. It is impossible for any one of those who has real charity in his heart not to serve Christ. Even some of those who think they hate Him, have consecrated their lives to Him; for Jesus is disguised and masked in the midst of men, hidden among the poor, among the sick, among prisoners, among strangers. Many who serve Him officially have never known who He was, and many who do not even know His name, will hear on the last day the words that open to them the gates of joy. O Those children were I, and I those working men. I wept on the hospital bed. I was that murderer in his cell whom you consoled.' "

Why would you go to a place like this? What did you expect? These are strange people, they treat something which is subjective as if it were objective. Best to you.
