C-Diff? Clostridium Difficile? It causes severe diarrhea, and normally starts after being exposed to another person that is infected with it, or after being on strong antibiotics for another infection. We treat it by using a different antibiotic, normally Flagyl or Vancomycin, which kills the C-Diff bacteria and helps restore the normal bacterial flora in your bowels.
There are a few different types of infections that can happen, but this one is a pretty commonly questioned problem.

(by the way, irritable bowel syndrome is not bacteria related, its a problem with the way the colon contracts to help push the poo out)
