Lay on your stomach with a pillow under your chest for 20 minutes. You can put a pillow under your feet while doing this to prevent strain. This should help. This is a Physical Thearapy thing I done. Then you can do push up with just your upper body. 10 at a time for 30 push ups. This will strengthen your back.

sharp pains may not be back problems depending on where it is...believe it or not...it may be kidney stones. You might want to have it checked out....especially if the pain is very strong and usually on the right side of the body. How long has the pain been there...if it is within the last 4 weeks only drink plenty of water and see a doctor.

Seriously before taking any suggestion you'll get from here, I would consult a doctor first before starting any exercise.
If you want to get rid of the pain, try to put a ice pack over you lower back!

Try a chiropractor. They can help determine why your back hurts, and then fix it. They can also suggest exercises to strengthen your back.

Sounds like you need to stop drinking soda and start drinking things that clean the urinary tract. You might have an infection so you should probably go to the doctor.

Start Walking. Walking builds up the muscle in your stomach and lower back.

Yes, crack your back - do some stretching. If you sit up straight, then grab something far off to your right and just move your back - pivot - you should crack your lower back.
Do the same thing to the left.
Otherwise, a good suggestion would be to go see a chiropractor.
