So, my aunt who is known for her crazy ideas came up with a real doozy this week. My 14-year-old cousin has been in some real trouble lately (due to poor upbringing, but that's another story). My aunt's solution is for my sister (who is in college) to shadow her 24/7, including going back to jr. high with her. My sister does want to help, and they have offered her $1000 a month to come live with them and do this. It doesn't help that my aunt claims this was revelation from God. They also went over my mom's head and now she is all upset. Does this sound unreasonable to anyone else? Is it too late to avoid causing a permanent rift? I would really miss my uncle and cousins if that happened.

So two questions. How do we talk my sister out of giving up her education to do this (for 2 years) and how do we deal with the rest of the family? Help!

If your sister does it, she's as nutty as your Aunt. Suspect that Aunt nutjob needs new tinfoil on her God antenna.

Tell sis that 24K is NOT worth 2 years of her life. Also, the school might have a problem with a college age girl taking up space to be a babysitter. You might want to ask the school about it, get shot down in flames and solve the whole bizarro issue.

I hope you bring a camcorder to Thanksgiving dinner. You've got viral video gold once Aunt nutjob hits the spiked eggnog!
