Since she had no one to go with I went. But B4 we left I asked her where her friend was registered so I can buy her a gift. Nothing fancy just a thank you for allowing a total stranger to attend. Well my best friend told me not to worry she'll put my name on the gift as if it were from both of us. I was okay with that and gave her half the money for the gift. When the bride is opening up her gift she reads who it's from and only says my friends name. I'm sure she didn't write it or she would have said it. Should I be upset or just let it slide since she is my best friend? I just felt kinda bad I went pretty much empty-handed.

I would talk to your friend about it. Do NOT be confrontational about it though, just let her know that it kinda irked you and you didn't appreciate doing her a favor and paying for a gift for someone you don't even know to look like a jerk and showing up empty handed.

i'm no fan of weddings. I evaluate they are surreal area the time. yet i would not spend greater effective than $25 on a reward, specifically if this may well be a relative. i'm now not specific i'd spend $25 to boot. Your relative has between the main appalling value technique: "if everyone seems to be too much less costly to keep for a reward than it is their predicament now not mine." She's judging them by way of what they deliver. I say take a f.f. She's now not valued on the priority. How is your now not attending the bridal bathe any ruder than now not being invited as a relative to the marriage rite? yet as quickly as greater, I evaluate weddings are farcical, and Bridezillas between the mandatory gruesome manifestations of our plenty battered society. Why such grief at the same time as the possibilities are high best 50:50 that they is additionally at the same time in 5 years.

That's tough. Send the friend a card thanking her for having you and at the same time tell her you paid for half the gift your best friend gave her. Explain to her that your best friend meant to include your name in it and rightfully too but forgot to do so.

If this friend goes back and tell your best friend about it, so be it. If your best friend takes offence to what you did, it's time to dump her. She is not a best friend and not an honest one to boot. What she should do is to not mention anything about it or what you did. She is the one who did not do the right thing.

I would definitely ask for a refund, since it was obvious that you weren't credited with purchasing the gift. If the gift is soley from her, why would she keep your money? The money was given with the understanding that your name be added to the gift card.

Actually "aprilstar" had the correct answer. Just learn the lesson & don't trust that someone will include your name on the card after you have contributed money towards that gift.

Yeah, I would have felt bad, too. I would just kind of bring it up casually, maybe say what a good time you had, but that you kinda felt weird that you went empty- handed. I, myself, would definatly say something though!

After the fact, I don't think there's really much you can do but let it go. Maybe send the bride a "Thank you" card for letting you attend.

Well I'm pretty annoyed with people like that. I would ask for my $$ back, and skip the next party.
