I need tips on how to shop with infant who is too heavy for carrier and cannot hold his head up yet. (grocery shopping by myself, spouse is overseas)

Some stores have shopping carts with carriers built onto them. Or take a stroller.

I used to carry my baby in a sling that had a head support - he became quite heavy as he grew but at least he was content and quiet and enabled me to concentrate on getting round the shop quickly.

PUt the baby in a portable car seat with a cushion around head and hook it to the basket in the normal part where kids sit facing you.
