I am not sure what type of tape worm they treated him with Cestoved injection...

Tape worms are caused by the ingestion of a live flea or ingestion of a live worm or larvae. Wash your hands and keep them out of your mouth and you will be safe.

What is "shed" from the kitten is the dead worm segments from the worm that is living inside the cat's body. So it cannot infect you, it is not living. I'm not sure about the eggs and certainly the personal hygiene safe-guards mention by other posters would be the safest way to go.

There is only one way to get tapeworms; eat a flea or an infected mouse. That's it. Even if you eat an egg sac, you won't get a tapeworm.
And the segments that the cat sheds out of its anus ARE egg sacs. They're just called "tapeworm segments".

No, my kitten just had worms and I asked my vet if I or my dog could get them and he said no

Wash your hands well, and keep them away from your mouth after cleaning out cat's litter box and you'll be worm free!

Only if you eat your kitten's fleas. Since I'm sure you don't, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

You should stay away from it's feces...that's where the eggs are and if you're playing with it, then you should take care to keep it away from your face and wash your hands before you eat or anything.

If you ingest the eggs you can...which are located in the feces, so unless you handle it and do not wash your hands and stick it or your fingers in your mouth..then you can get it. So, you should be fairly safe if you don't handle cat poop.

Its a possiblity, if there were eggs in your bed or something there is a high chance you can get them
