This is going to sound childish, and it is said out of fear. But why do you think we are born only to die? Any insights?

it is a bizzare question....and if come to think abt it, there is no logic behind being born and later die...

but based on religion, one comes to world to perform good deeds and he/she will have an eternal after life based on his/her deeds.....

If you cannot die, then you cannot live. It is a necessary part of the equation. Without the death part, we could not truly have the life part.

I think there is clearly more to life than just death. It is not the end, but the means that matters. In other words, it is a great opportunity and what you make of it is the whole point. Knowing that there is only a set timeframe is simply a motivation. When you are done, you have learned and you move on to the next life.

If you were never going to die - and I mean really die, forever, in the atheist sense of the word - how could you ever learn to value being alive? It should be knowledge that tomorrow could be your last day of consciousness that makes you want to do the best for today. Between birth and death is (hopefully) a long time, but we strive to make that space in between as good and well spent as possible, and to do as little harm to others as we can. Putting your trust in an imaginary heaven is pointless in this respect, because it is tantamount to admitting that life is only to be suffered. It is not if you work at it. And it's worth the effort. Even if you have to die at the end, you should aim to leave behind a glow of love and value in those who knew you. Good luck with the rest of your life.

No, not a bizarre question. An excellent question.

The reason that we are born is to make this world a better place. This may be as simple as cheering someone up or picking up a piece of trash so someone else can enjoy a nice walk.

At some time, this life does end. I believe that there is a life after this one and if we do God's will in this life, we will be with God in the next life.

Please contact me if you have a troubled heart. My part of making this world a better place may be setting your mind at ease.

Well it depends on perspective now doesn't it. I do not think of it like that. I was born to live. Yes I will eventually die and that is a normal and natural part of life but I do not sit and wait for it to happen. I go out into the world and make my path, I love, I learn, I help and hopefully when death does come at it's proper time people will say ..boy she really LIVED.

We weren't originally born to die. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:11 that God put time indefinite in our hearts. God created Adam and Eve to live forever. The only thing that God said would lead to death for them was their disobedience. Since they disobeyed God, they brought "sin" into the world. Romans 5:12 says: "That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned." Had they remained obedient, they'd still be alive today and the rest of us would be perfect and have the opportunity to live forever as well. Fortunately for us, although we have to endure the world as it is now, God made provisions to return things to the way they were before Adam and Eve sinned.

There is a ultimate plan that God has, and it's a wonderful one. You can have that unbelieveable life with the Lord if you really do want it from your heart ,just by accepting Jesus as your savior.

God's plan is this. He is getting together a Christian Church which is to become His son Jesus who is the Lamb of God's bride in heaven. So life is an on going process of weeding out the people by their own choosing, are not worthy of becoming part of the church which will become the bride of Jesus.

Life with Jesus in heaven will be more awesome than anyone will every imagine. But life will put our faith in God and in His son to the ultimate test. God wants only those who freely and willings and lovingly come to Jesus and invite Him into their hearts and lives.

Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Revelation 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

There is no mystery in becoming a Christian, because God tells us what to look for, and how to acquire it. The mystery lies in remaining lost and never experiencing God's truth because a person who decided to remain lost and refused to accept Jesus as their savior.

From a purely Darwinian standpoint, we weren't born to die... We were born to copulate and reproduce. The goal of any species is to continue to survive through the generations, and the goal of any individual within a species is to ensure its genes survive to the next generation. For better or for worse, the human mind has developed to the point where we strive for a more fulfilling meaning to life than survival (partly a result of our current lack of predators) but when you get down to it, we are born to copulate and further our genes and our species

I don't think I was born to just simply die. But rather to live and experience and hopefully enhance the experience of others who also live in this same time as me. After I pass what I experienced will become in some small way part of the experience of those who carry on. What happens to us when we die? I dunno. Doesnt really matter to me. I live to harm no others and enjoy my life and learn much. That is good enough for me.

First of all, I feel so sorry for the person that responded that human life is worthless. How ever did you learn that? That is completely false. Ever person has incredible worth to the God who created that person. We are given an opportunity to live, to experience the love of God, to learn about His son, and then to go out into the world and show others His love, mercy, compassion, kindness, forgiveness, all those things. And, He has given us a world of green trees, flowers, beautiful birds, interesting animals, tall mountains, blue seas, to enjoy while we're here.

Life is what you make it. When you have the purpose of living for Christ, life is as good as it will ever get this side of heaven.

As Paul said "to live is Christ, to die is gain".
