Does any one else believe that we r getting punished for things that we did in our past lives now. Maybe thats why things aren't always fair.

That would be reincarnation, and karma. Check out the eastern religions (ex: Hinduism).

Nothing is ever "fair". "Fair" is a relative term. Something good happening to you may not seem fair to someone else. If you are a complete jerk in this life (which seems to sort of negate that whole "you get what deserve from past lives thing") and good things happen for you, that is not fair, especially for someone who does their best to be a good person. Now, ask yourself this: "if I go outside and someone has keyed my car, does that mean I cut someone off while driving?" It seems rather counter intuitive to punish without explaining what the punishment is for. Past lives and bad behavior are simply this: a control mechanism. Anyone ever tell you you need to give money to a church? That's a control mechanism. Preying upon your desire to prove your goodness through monetary donations.

Maybe you're imagining being punished because you know that you believe the wrong thing. We don't have past lives. What we have is the life we're living, and it's our one chance to come to Christ.

I don't believe in past lives, but the Bible does say that generations can suffer the consequences of past generations' sins. It doesn't seem fair, but it can happen.

Or you can choose to see life as:
We are getting rewarded for things other people have done before us.
Which view serves your agenda best?
What is that agenda?

there is strong evidence to suggest we did 'live' before.. compelling evidence even and yes we could be punished.. or we could just be given a second chance?..
