I served in the Navy from 1991-1995 active duty.1995-1999 inactive duty. I would like to go back and serve my country again, but I don't know if I can hang with the younger gen. Am I too old?

Navy is still 35 for NEW enlisted, since you served 4 years active duty that means even if you are 38 you will still go back because you had can take 4 years for been in already. 33 is not old man, it just means you got your stuff together and instead of blowing all your pay on booze and what-not like when you were 18 you can now save it or teach the youngsters how to have a good time.

Since you been out for so long though you might have to get requalified at your MOS or get a new one, but maybe not. Try finding a similiar job in the Air Force though, they really treat their guys really good. But there's a 42 year old mom and even 42 year old grandma going/gone through Army's basic training recently.

No, your not too old. Physically, Im certain you can cut it. I was in boot camp with 30something men and women. The thing that might get to you is the maturity level. I went to boot camp at the age of 24 and even the difference between myself and the 18 year olds was insane. They were so ridiculous!! Think of yourself as wiser and of a leader because you can bet due to your age people are going to look up to you and look to you for the answers. Good luck. Im proud to hear you going back.

No, you arent. You would probably have to go into the guard or reserves though. I joined and went to basic at the age of 27, turned 28 in tech school. I didn't think I was too old.

Man go for it. As far as you being able to hack it that only you can answer. I retired 5 years ago after 30 years special ops and I still run 5 miles a day rain or shine and can run my son-in-laws in the ground. Good luck. We need good men.

Thank you for your service - and I am not sure - but mind as well check into it on the Navy or Army websites. We need all the true Americans we can get right now.

Hey they are taking people up to 42 and sometimes 46. Just go see a recruiter I'm sure he would be happy to write up the paperwork for you.

No, but get ready to sweat. My son became a Army Ranger at 29.
The Army upped their age to 42 yrs old.

I thought the limit was 34, ya might want to call a recruiter, or check the website. We can always use people-especially people who know what they are doing!
