Many people are racist against undocumented workers because they see the change they are capable of accomplishing. Just a few months ago, a law was going to be passed making undocumented workers felons. Mass protests by hispanics and undocumented workers prevented this law from being passed.
So why do people hate "illegals"? It's not that they take jobs, or supposed benefits. It's that Americans see the changes we are capable of making. How many Americans would take a day off work to fight for something they believe in? Not many. Americans see the power undocumented workers are capable of achieving and FEAR them.
They fear that one day these people will become citizens and be allowed to vote and change other racist laws.

people are not racist. The simple fact that i had train 3 years to become an electrician working for bad money to be trained at such a high standard and have my wages slashed to keep my job instead of being laid off for a polish guy who works 16 hours a day with no breaks at 6 pound a hour it makes me mad. By the way these illegals are dangerous on construction sites and all run of wen immigration pay a visit. they are hard working but poorley trained

Since illegal aliens come from a variety of countries and ethnic backgrounds, calling it 'racism' is a misnomer. Some people have cried 'racism' until they realized the approximate scope of the issue, which is thus: Somewhere between 1 and 3 million people basically waltz right in to our country, and set up shop, regardless of the immigration laws. They basically just show up
and do what they want. Problem comes when they decide to do it to YOU. Problems ranging from petty theft, to ID theft, to grand larceny, to assault, and out-and-out murder have been reported,
everything from minor stuff like breach of zoning/occupancy laws to human trafficking, the list goes on and on, and off the page.
Some people believe that borders are obsolete. Others disagree.
The concept of countries as separate, identifiable entities kind of depends on borders, and it stands to reason that too liberal a policy will result in an eventual 'bleed down' of your standard of living, such as it might be, as well as the probably unwelcome development OF uncontrolled development.
Here's the gag: There's about 6.6 billion people in the world.
Let's play 'what if'. What if there were no border enforcement PERIOD, all the fine peeps from the USBP and all the other agencies just packed up, went home, and found other work.
Would you feel comfortable with that? Probably not. Because all of a sudden, there'd be god only knows WHO rolling through our streets. Suffice it to say that might be an undesirable circumstance.
So, if you start from a position of saying that large-scale uncontrolled/uncontrollable immigration might not be such a hot concept, why not fix the hole in the 'dam' NOW, before it enlarges?
Legal immigration doesn't hurt anything, and there's thousands that do it every year. ILLEGAL immigration, though, is just "I'm going to help myself, to hell with you AND your laws"-type attitude, basically 'catch me if you can'.
It's food for thought. As population numbers rise, and poverty numbers with them, so do property crimes, assaults, and other
'fun'. Nevermind that as another 'fun' byproduct, our country also gets dragged into everyone else's crap. I don't know where it's headed from here, but it'll be interesting, that's for sure...I think there's such a thing as 'too much, too fast', and uncontrolled immigration is going to slam people together whose ideologies, beliefs, cultures, and customs just aren't compatible. Would you like to live next to a nice ethnic vietnamese couple and come over for kitty-burgers? LOL Or, have a ritual armed standoff over a parking spot, as a point of honor, with knives drawn? Hmm, what else...oh yeah, your neighbor with the 18 kids...
I guess the best way to answer your question is to have you ask yourself if you think that immigration enforcement is borne out of racism, as many have asserted, here on this board. Should we even have immigration laws, or drop the pretense and save 50 million a year in enforcement costs?
We live in 'interesting times', when other countries' population growth has truly outstripped our own. Their economies have not evolved to the point where they can sustain them, and thus the pressure to move to the United States etc. What will happen to OUR economy? What, indeed...as more and more arable land is paved over to make housing tracts, as more and more social services are levied against your taxes, as more and more people come into our country that don't speak a word of english, questions, yes, many questions, as to what the future holds...
still think being against illegal immigration is racist?

Its not that we are racist, we are all for the ones here legally, that acclimate to our culture, learn English, follow our laws, and don't live off of welfare. We are against any person that invades our country, steels our money, and tries to set up little mini mexico's everywhere. So come here legally, or live here until we get laws passed to rid the USA of the lot once and for all.

It has nothing to do with being "racist". Just because the majority of ILLEGALS are mexican, they cry and whine about racism.
It is the pure fact of them coming here ILLEGALLY. In today's world the USA needs to protect itself... and one major way of doing so is controlling the borders, North, South, East & West.
I thought it was really funny hearing the Los Angeles Mayor,
"Mayor Viva La Raza", saying it was "UNAMERICAN" wanting to protect our borders !

Just because we think people who break our laws are criminals does not make us racist. The only raciest thing is that Mexicans who are here illegally bring up the race card whenever they are caught breaking the law.

Is this a U.S. question? Britain has the same ongoing rant, I accidentally stumbled into it yesterday. Quite interesting, blokes.
Seriously, it's not a race thing. Don't make it one. It's pure economics. The illegals take jobs with fake ssn's and then don't pay taxes. Guess who pays for all the social services they use? And, don't forget that they also get credit with these fake ssn's and then skip the bill.
Who pays for this?

Thusfar, I have encountered some very rude Mexicans.
Last week to my astonishment, I encountered a very respectful Mexican brother. He's in Home Depot! Must be a hard worker! If, he is an illegal, I would definitely sponsor him.
We need some decent brothers in the U.S.

Why would you make that statement unless the racism was in yourself. People who break the law have no race and has all races in them. So your conclusion would be that we are racist against every race !

Why can't you people ever ask something different? It's not like you hear the answers to this repetitive question anyway.
