I already have a papillon (male, 3 y.o) & my friend has a bunch of dachshund puppies & wants to give me one (3 month, female).

Any idea how these 2 will get along? I have a large apartment & can walk them for 1/2 hr once or twice a day (if they want to). I don't like my pap being alone for more than a few hours, so will they like each other? pap is very timid but also stubborn & a little jealous but i think he'll adjust. what are dachhunds like (miniature)

Males and females generally get along well and the Dachshund being a mini with an already small dog like Papillion should be a good match...Dachshunds are generally good natured dogs but can tend to be a lil bit hyper as puppies... I had a wiener dog and he was very playful and never a bore! Good luck!

Dachshunds can be nice dogs. The best way to find out if your papillion will get along with the new pup is to introduce them in a neutral place (the park maybe as long as the pup has her shots) so your male is not territorial in your home. You want your male to either ignore the pup or try to play with her. You DON'T want him to show aggression with her. If all goes well then he should be fine with her.
A young doxie is full of energy and will need the two walks a day.

I personally Ever never had one but know Many people who Do and they love them. Your dog Will Prob let the new one know that your house is his domaine but he Will more then likely let her live there. I would take the pup into your house before you move her in to see how the Two react .. Have someone Else Bring the new pup in, you can be holding and Petting your Dog to Show him that you still love him and That all is ok. Then Slowly introduce them To each Other.

They're cute as a bug, but they can be very stubborn at times, and they bark alot but nonetheless, overall they are about the most loving pet you could have. Also, their size makes them easy to take along when travelling.

WEINER DOGS AKA DACHUNDS, ARE WONDERFUL LOYAL PETS. GENERALLY GET ALONG WITH EVERYONE AND OTHER PETS. ONE THING, THEY DO TEND TO HAVE JOINT PROBLEMS IN THE HIPS DUE TO BREEDING SIZE.
