First, fill out a fafsa, which is the government's student aid program. Based on a mathematical formula with the variables coming from information from you and your parent's tax forms(W-2), they will decide whether you are eligible. I'de suggest doing it your college counselor or advisor. They may know some things about the fafsa, that could help you get financial aid.
After that, go to fastweb.com. They compile a list of scholarships that you are eligible for. I've gotten over 50 potential scholarships that I could apply for, but most require an essay (usually 500-1000 words) which is basically nothing when you could be getting hundreds or thousands of dollars.

You would probably want to check with your guidance councelor and ask for their advice.
However, if they have a habit of not being helpful (like mine) there's a few websites you can check out and you could maybe try google.
Check with whatever Colleges/Universities you're applying too. Many give schoolarships based on merit (grades, music, etc) or on financial need. If/When you're accepted find out what the school will give you.
For anything need based, you will first have to apply with FAFSA in January. It's a government program that determines based on your family's financial situation how much you're expected to pay and how much many you can get to go to college.
Scholarships.com is a good place to start. Again, try going to google and searching, there's thousands and thousands of scholarships out there - many simply require and essay and some paper work and every little bit helps.

The college looks at your SAT scores and report cards and then decides if you should get a scholarship or not.

Do you really expect to get something you can't even spell? The word is scholarship!
I would not give you one, if this is the best you can do, you will flunk out.

First look at what may be available based on your race, gender, religion, chosen field of study etc
If nothing there, look at academic scholarships if you have good grades
