Maybe they SHOULD be allowed to get laid. Then, they wouldn't have to mess with children.

There are a couple of verses in the Bible that point to men who become "eunuchs", pretty much meaning they give up sex all together to focus solely on God. The RCC just made it mandatory.
Sex is not unholy, no matter what that book says. And yes, priests are inhuman. They promise to give up sex and then turn around and rape little kids. That is inhuman.

It began as a practical thing. In the Middle Ages, priests had a lot of duties. They were the town psychologist as well as the pastor. *Everybody* went to their masses. They managed monasteries and convents, which were much more popular. They even stockpiled food and ammunition for entire villages as needed. A family would have detracted from those responsibilities.
Today, of course, we see that this isn't a very helpful system, and it may not have been in the Middle Ages, either.

Because the Roman Catholic Priests are to symbolized Jesus Christ to their parishes, or their churches. This does back to the time Christ told Saint Peter, to be the rock for his church. And then ever since then Saint Peter had been the very first Roman Catholic Pope. This is mainly because in the dark ages no one could read or write and they learned about religion through their churches like Notre Dame in Paris, France and then they learned about the life of Christ through the lives of the priests of their churches.

Celibacy in the catholic church was introduced because the church always gave married priests( yes priests did marry centuries ago) a house to live in and some property, when the priest died his family started to lay claim to his property under succession rights and so the churches property portfolio started to diminish at a frightening rate, the churches answer to the problem was celibacy, clever what.

I think they should be allowed to get married, but that is a rule in their chosen religion. They know that before they choose to be a priest. They could always quit being a priest if they decided that wasn't a lifestyle they wanted anymore. Just my opinion...

It is not unholy orinhuman. It is a non-salvation related doctrine confined to the Catholic Church which takes Paul's statement that he wished all were unmarried like him, so that they could better devote there time to the work of God, a little too literally.

The answer is in 1 Timothy 4:1-3. It says:
However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, PAYING ATTENTION TO MISLEADING INSPIRED UTTERANCES AND TEACHINGS OF DEMONS, by the HYPOCRISY OF MEN who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; FORBIDDING TO MARRY, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who have faith and accurately know the truth.
If you're looking for the one true faith, this scripture would justify the elimination from your list of any religion that demands celibacy.

When the law was created... there were lots of people getting laid and they'd look at the priests and say "If your God is so great why aren't YOU getting laid?" and they would stop and wonder and think.... ummm ummm (insert circular logic) "Because we need to be celibate, yeah that's it."

I think it goes to the writings of St. Paul who says that certain leaders in the Church should be celibate but it's not something I claim to understand.

My theory is that the early Christians were p!ssed off that other people were getting more nookie than they were, so they decided to make a bunch of silly and arbitrary rules about sex to try to put the kibosh on anybody else having more fun than they were...
