you need to be more specific. It could be a number of things. Maybe you have TMJ or you clench your teeth when you sleep, in that case you need a nightguard. Maybe you have a toothache that needs a Root Canal Therapy, maybe you just had a filling done and the bite is still too tall and needs to be adjusted. Contact me with more specifics if you want. Maybe you popped it like you pop your knuckles, I've done that a couple times and it hurts for a few days. Usually because theres fluid or air in the joint so that when you move it, it hurts. Try stretching your jaw around from side-side and up-down and see which way hurts more. Your orthodontist may be able to tell you exactly what.

Are you an ice muncher, if so this will cause your jaw muscle to get sore. My aunt had the same problem the dentist told her to stop eating ice.

If u have or are getting wisdom teeth that could be the problem. I had to get mine removed and it was VERY VERY PAINFUL.
