You best hope not. There is no doubt if Iran were to stupidly use any nuclear weapon on Israel or any other nation (of course anything further away would require advanced deployment methods which they lack at least now) then the gates of hell would open up.
You can bet that even countries that were anti-US, Israeli, etc may not become fans but would not balk at Iran being invaded and nearly made extinct. Despite what many think, vast majorities of countys do not want to even think about something like that. Nuclear warfare isn't as 'clean" as dropping a 500 pound bomb. The effects are long lasting and virtually any country that is nearby gets covered with fallout. I'll bet the Lebanese and Saudis and Egyptians wouldn't be thrilled if that occurred and the next day found everything in their country contaminated. Nope.....lets hope that the Iranians are idiots like Hezzbollah. I don't think the Iranians want to wipe themselves out in the process of killing their enemies. They want to take their place in a group of nations that are to be respected and recokened with.
'Course they aren't quite going about it the right way are they?

Before answering, allow me first to refer to some of the
comments and answers that I read, regarding your question.
1 - many were against the Idea that Iran might require a Nuclear Bomb, for the "possibility" of using it against Israel.
2 - Question : why Iran must be forbidden from producing such Bomb - providing that they have the capability - ?? Is it because that Iran is not a Super power country ? Then why Israel - India - Pakistan - (among other countries) are allowed and they are not Super powers ??
3 - some "assumed" that Iran - being a new comer to the (Nuclear world) - might over enjoy playing with their new "TOYS" and try them on Israel. For those I say : There was only one " Saddam Hussein " in the area, and now he is in custody !!! No one would do such crazy act .... so relax !!
4 - if they want to support any Militia group like "Hezbollah" for example, they would support them financially before Weapons, which is more important for Hezbollah at the moment because they are in the re-building stage.
As for the answer of your question, yes I do think that Iran has the capabilities to develop and acquire Nuclear Bomb, but I do have to agree - "Partially" - with some of the comments here, that their Nuclear bomb will be nothing but another "Toy on the shelf ", or a " Keep away sign ", and they will divert their efforts for peaceful means only !!!
...... just a humble opinion !!

It is possible that Iran will acquire an atomic weapon. It is very doubtful that they would use the weapon against Israel. Israel has superior force projection capabilities than Iran, both in terms of conventional and nuclear weaponry. An atomic attack against Israel from Iran would be responded to in kind. Israel may lose more people initially due to population density, however I am of the opinion that Iran would lose out in the end.
The use of an atomic bomb as a political weapon though can not be understated. An extremist nation with nuclear weapons would change the political dynamic the region. All nations involved would have to rethink their policies and agendas accordingly.

It would probably be easier for them to buy some of Russia's obsolete weapons and adapt their long range rockets to deliver them then to build their own.
They want to build their own because third world countries like India and Iran equate having a nuclear weapon with being a world power. For all we know they already have purchased nuclear weapons and are doing this just for show. It is all about prestige and the illusion of power.
And yes, if they wanted to wage war on Israel they could. And if they had nukes they might use them. But remember there are sites holy to Islam in Israel, so they might not be used indiscriminately.

no longer yet. Israel has no longer bombed Iran's nuclear centers, so far. On August 22 Ali Larijani, hand introduced Iran's 21-web site reaction to u.s. 1696 the kit of incentives to dissuage Iran from uranium enrichment with uranium hexafluoride gas in its Russian-outfitted a million,000-megawatt reactor at Bushehrand Natanz. Iran's impressive nuclear negotiator stated that Tehran replaced into waiting to go into "intense negotiations" over its disputed nuclear application yet did no longer say despite if it replaced into prepared to droop uranium enrichment — the West's key call for. This replaced into simply by fact the West had presented many financial incentives. Iran is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it has no longer ratified 2 added protocols to the international Atomic potential company's application ninety 3 + 2, it is designed to evade states from coming up nuclear weapons covertly. On August 31 the U.S. will set financial and diplomatic sanctions against Iran if it maintains to reinforce uranium. very superb chief Ayatollah Khameini avers that Iran has a impressive to have nuclear weapons. Leaders of the Iranian perplexing-line regime, believe they have a right away line to God, and that they are going to do despite 'divine theory' demands them to do. chatting with them is mindless.

Larry, The Merchant and myself all agree that the human race as a whole would benifet from learning from our past mistakes and just get rid of all modern weaponry, and just go back to the age of swords and sheilds. It's pretty unfathomable that a Martial Arts expert, whose been doing their thing for about 30 years could be killed by a five year old with a handgun. It's totaly stupid. Sorry gun fanatics, but in our opinion, the modern day weaponry should just be banned from all forms of civilization.

Yes, and with our good "friend" Valdimir Putin selling them all sorts of nifty toys, and China selling them our guided missile technology, it should be no time before they have this.
And of course what kid wouldn't want to play with his new toy? So yes, as soon as Iran can, they will try to wipe out Israel. The only good thing about this is, that they have one shot, the US and Israel will have more than enough fire power to wipe out Iran when the time comes.

well they did say they will "Blow Israel off the map"
Although Israel is not innocent either. no one talks about how Israel kidnapped the 30,000 Lebanese. I don't want Israel to be blown up though. to be honest, i think we should have stopped supporting Israel quite a few presidents ago.

i think they want one for sure to try to head off the US from "aquiring" their oil fields ... but that would be about the extent of it ... they may hate the US and Israel but even they arnt stupid enough to use a nuke ... it would spell total annialation for them ... i think they want a bomb for a deterrant ... and i think the US sees them getting a bomb as a hindrance to their plan to subjugate the entire middle east and control ALL its oil.

On their own, they haven't the money to develop a nuclear bomb. However, if they are being backed by another or other countries, it's possible. I have no clue who they would use it on first.
