Same here. I avoid most cereals. Just make sure you pick one with a lot of fiber in it (I like Fiber One). You'll stay fuller longer.

Metabolism. When you eat breakfast in the morning, your body gets to work burning it off, all that work makes your body hungry again. When you skip breakfast, its like not even waking your body up in the morning, it still thinks its asleep. When you sleep, your metabolism slows down. Thats why you hear not to eat too close to bedtime, cause your food will be metabolized very slowly. You do not want a slow metabolism, as this leads to weight gain. To really rev up your meatabolism, eat small, frequent meals durning the day, like 6 of them. And dont forget to drink lots of water, which also helps to burn calories. You will have tons of enerygy durning the day, and wont get that after-lunch sleepy feeling.

It has something to do with the carbohydrates giving your blood sugar levels a spike. Carbs don't stay with you too terribly long. So when the blood sugar levels fall, you are hungry again.
If you had some protein for breakfast---eggs, cottage cheese, etc, it both stays with you longer, and maintains a blood sugar level that doesn't spike your appetite.

When you eat breakfast you kick your metabolism into high gear. When you skip breakfast you slow it down. To keep your blood sugar pretty level, I'd suggest several mini meals or snacks in between meals. Healthy ones, of course!

Nobody has ever given me a suitable answer to this. My only explaination is that, while you are sleeping you dont feel hunger- even when you get up to pee in the night you dont feel your tummy growling so in the morning if you dont kick start your insides with some sugar puffs or similar, your metabolism carried on in sleep mode.
Maybe. I dunno. All I know is that if you are trying to loose weight quick and well unhealthy, this is the way to go!

That is because that cereal as good as it may be for you,it don't stay with our systems very long, and you need to snack on something in between to hold you over til lunch. You might want to snack on something like fruit!!

The same thing happens to me! The only thing I can think of is that when you eat it speeds up your metabolism and that causes you to burn off the food quicker, resulting in being hungry. Whereas, if you don't eat, your metabolism stays the same!
