For christians and muslims. What makes the muslim god better than the christian god (or vice versa). Answers this in regards to all the fighting and name calling you people like to do in this forum. How has your religion made you a kinder more accepting person, once again in regard to the fighting and name calling against each other and athesist?

If you believe that there is only one God then how do explain that each individual has a god with different attributes?

Does it require a belief in hell to scare you into being a better person, can you not be a better person simply for the enrichment of your own life and the life of those you love?

You thought about killing someone before you were a christian, not entirely abnormal, but what would concern me is that you lack the intellignece to realize the consequences (as in to your mental health) this would be a problem that is inherint regardless of philsophy.

My faith makes me WANT to be accepting, but my faith also causes me to be disgusted by false gods, blasphemers, and those who simply refuse to admit God exists. I refrain from name-calling, only because it's not conducive to helping people to find God.
you may want to be be more accepting but the fact that you have to "refrain from name-calling, only because it's not conducive to helping people to find God." makes it pretty clear that you are not. Not to mention that "my faith also causes me to be disgusted by false gods, blasphemers, and those who simply refuse to admit God exists." is name calling not to mention extreamly arrogant. guessing you muslim (or christian fundie) from the terms you use, this attitude is very much contrary to biblical mandate, not sure how it fits in with Islam as it has been awhile since I have read the koran.

Its god the father (GOD) god the son (jesus) and the holy spirit (not the angel gaberial who is the head angel replaceing lucifer but not part of god) this varies among christian religons as weather or not these are 3 different characters of the same individual or 3 individuals.

And not a one of you have answered the question in regards to how it has effected people behaviour here in yahoo answers, I dont see chritians and musilims agreeing on much, just fighting. Is this because most peoples actions are not justified by their philosphy that has so improved their them? every answer has been contradicted by the actions of the people of said religion.

"God" or "Jesus" or "Mohammed" or "E=Meter" or any other kind of religion is very subjective. There is no point in trying to convince any one else of a religious thought. Religion is by nature not interested in facts, it is interested in faith. Therefore, the entire concept of discussing religion is moot. That is why there is no answer to your question. ;-)

First of all Christians and Muslims believe in the same God! Only thing is that Christians also believe in prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) as God, and Holy Spirit (Angel Gabriel) as God - Trinity, which we Muslims consider a big sin. Because in Islam nobody has the right to be worshipped except God.

As for your question, my religion Islam has made me a better person. Because it teaches me to be kind to every human being whether be it non-muslim or muslim. And to respect my parents, and to treat my neighbours well, help them if they face any problems. And to treat my wife with respect and love my children.

In short Islam has made a better person, better father, better husband and better (Inshallah) servant to God.

The more I get to know God through the Bible and the more I seek to become like Christ, the more I see people as people with hurts, struggles, disappointments, and lives. I don't call people names on this sight or anywhere. I try not to take it personally when other people call me names--I recognize that their anger and bitterness is more a reflection of themselves and their life experiences than it is about me. I actually feel quite a bit of compassion for people who are "lost." That's all come through my relationship with Jesus Christ. I used to care only about myself and never gave a thought to what someone else might be thinking, feeling, or going through.

It is through studying and memorizing the Bible that I have grown to understand God's amazing love and compassion and grace--which I do my best to extend to those around me.

Yes, it has for me. I look at people now with compassion instead of just condemning them. Before I was a Christian, I was trying to think of a way to murder someone without getting caught. Becoming a Christian helped me to forgive that person.

I'm a Christian and I believe there is only one God- mine. God has made me a better person because I don't get angry so quickly and I am starting to forgive more.

By making me to feel his love for me. I belong to "Rational Spirituality", not to any religion, and I believe that many of those who fight, are simply frustrated for not being able to find the Truth. I found it.

Have a nice day.

God is God, there is only one.
People need to read the teachings of the Bible and put forth their best effort to follow them. If everyone did so, the we would all be better people.
