aww! those are all really cute dogs. i think if you want a big dog then you shouldn't get a coton.
but if you want an intellegent, amazing, faithful dog then choose a german shephard.
i used to have one, they are amazing.

I work at a rescue and before homing any dog to anybody, we like to know how they live. If you are at work all day, a lazyish dog like a greyhound, believe it or not, it fantastic. Although they race, this is because of their streamlined bodies, not the fact that they have countless amounts of energy, they don't. However, if you live an energetic lifestyle, but don't work a german shepherd would be ideal.
Please could I ask you to consider getting a dog from a rescue or a pound. There is an added benefit from getting a dog from a rescue as you will know the dog's temperament. You won't have a puppy chewing everything up, and messing everywhere and demanding your attention for 24 hours of the day. At a pound you will be saving a life. Afetr seven days of being here each dog is put to sleep, regardless of whether it is loving or not. By buying off a breeder you are making the small chance of a pound dog living any longer than seven days even smaller.
DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE.

What qualities are you looking for? Do you want one that rarely barks, or for protection, as an active or running companion? Do you have kids? Because if you do, some are better with children than others. My neighbor has a GR and he's wonderful! He's great w/ their kids and he never barks (thankfully, since our houses are so close). I have family members w/ both shelties & G.S. & the are both good breeds, too. The sheltie has been known to nip at the kids because she's not used to them being around.
I have no idea what a coton de tulear is. Sorry.
When you are ready for one, please contact your local animals shelter/pound because they often have wonderful and purebred animals ready for adoption. If they can't help you, check with your local SPCA or animal rescue group to find the breed you want.
Good luck!

That is up to you and your life style. Go to AKC.org to learn more about the breed's needs and life style.
Personally between your choices I would get either a Sheltie or a German Shepherd.
Pit Bulls are my breed by far! Although I saw the greatest t-shirt that said "Not everyone needs a Pit Bull, but every Pit Bull needs somebody."

Each of those breeds have advantages/disadvantages. What research have you done about the dogs? What are you looking for? Cotons are cute, Goldens are loyal, great with kids etc. You need to research the breeds: websites, meeting dogs, talking with owners of the breed etc. The breeders/owners will tell you the good and bad of their dogs. They know them best

It all depends on the owner what type dog do you like and that you can handle each dog requires something different. I love rottweilers and boxers they are both good watch dogs and very protitive, don't get a dog if your not ready for the big bite. if you like small dogs that require alot of attention then that what you should do. Is it going to be a house or outside animal??? Good Luck
